I wouldn't worry - I doubt many of our leaders got their first public attention on a pageant stage - the "Miss"s tend to stay in their own little pageant universe.

   

I doubt it if they send all their maps to Iraq and South Africa.

   

Checking youtube, that was from the "Top 5"... Miss North Carolina, when asked what the biggest risk was that she'd taken in her life and what she'd learned, responded with - get this - snowboarding in Canada; "it's not like the mountain of North Carolina at all", so "going down there was very hard".

I'm guessing North Carolina was one of the 1/5th that can't use a map.

Seriously though, the question itself was stupid, but common for Pageants. Even a good answer would sound like stupid air headed BS.

   

LOL thankfully the ole "How to achieve world peace" wasn't asked of her. Her hair would of caught on fire.

Funny you should say that......not just my initial reaction but my final answer.

   

I live in the United States, and i must say that I for one am appalled. I didn't know that we had sent all our maps to Iraq, South Africa, and other such places like that. I still have my road atlas from 2004. I wonder if I was supposed to turn it in or something.

On the bright side, she did answer the question perfectly. She gave a prime example of why so many American's can't find one little country on a great big ol' map. I am a little ashamed.

   

Crazy as it may sound, i suspect she would have been better preparred to answer a question about world peace with some rehersed and intelligent answer rather than that nonsense.
