For the new Monopoly board, Montreal is a better choice than Istanbul. Istanbul is a city that owes its relative comfort to the fact that it is built beside a famous strait; it had an old-fashion monopoly on important commercial routes. Montreal has an entirely new and better conception of a monopoly.

Did we just waste our time???? Not that I didn't already have my doubts from the start...
The leaderboard has been taken away and this is what it says:

I've taken the leader board away to add a little mystery to the final placement of cities on the new board to be released later this year but keep voting for your pre selected cities until the 28 February as there’s still everything to play for.
The voting's very close and you can still make a difference - we're so near the end so whether your city was at the top or the bottom, vote like mad and the top spot could be yours.
The 20 pre-selected cities with the highest worldwide votes will make it onto the board. Plus, you will have from February 29 to March 9 2008 to vote on the most nominated Wildcard cities. Only the top two will make it on the board!

Ummm...me too, but it's not a game, it's a publicity stunt and they are using the voters to collect marketing info for the final development and release of the game.

just saw a report about Jerusalem being on the list..
because the Palestinians are claiming the city as a part of Palestine,
Monopoly has decided to drop the Israel part of .. Jerusalem, Israel
Unbeleivable, some people will try to politicize and screw with everything.

The three pictures of Montreal and Istanbul of the Monopoly website show a Montreal more colorful than Istanbul.

It seems odd that they removed the top 20 with 6 days left. I could see with maybe 2 or 3 left to makle it interesting.
Oh well just keep voting for the Canadian cities is all.

The ideal city is the city where you can criss-cross, with a peaceful mind, a lot a people without even noticing them.
