Not much difference between 'balls' & 'absolute stupidity'!

Honestly, that guy should probably have his kids taken away from him. it's not even the letting the kid drive that bothers me so much. That's a momentary stupidity that I could see many people indulging in for a brief second or two. It's taking the kid on the bike in the first place wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Irresponsible and dumb. Imo.

I've lost track of the amount of riders flying down the highway wearing shorts and a t-shirt. All just one second of inattention from the worst road rash ever. :o

I think most of us have done the t-shirt thing. I know have. Plus 30, just going a couple blocks... it's stupid, but if someone wants to risk their own skin... I don't know anyone who's laid it down llike that more than once... but to bring your kid like that...criminal.

I agree.

My brother took his vintage Yamaha 400XS into a local shop to get the carbs cleaned, tune-up & just a real good check-up. He bought it with 2400 original miles on it. Fellow had bought it brand new and then decided riding really wasn't his interest. Put it in his shop and covered it up for years. This bike was in pristine condition.
My brother got a phone call yesterday. Here's his bike now!

No, probably crying softly to himself.

That's what the insurance company is going to be saying.

Apparently the rest of the building was vacant so I don't suppose it will be too difficult for investigators to figure it out. I'm betting no one is going to see anything from insurance until close to the end of the year. Bro will have to go wiyth the motorcycle shops ins. co cuz he hadn't yet put ins on the bike. He seems to be taking it all in stride tho. Course, I wasn't there when he got the phone call!

Talk about a great day for me tho. Yesterday went for a ride on the Harley with BiL to Wainwright. I was in the lead. Bil was 2 seconds behind me. I saw smokey heading my way and backed off on the throttle. When I looked down I was only doing 20 over. Seems Smokey didn't have his radar on. I rolled on the throttle and carried on. WRONG! I could see the blue& reds comming up fast in my mirrors. We pulled over and waited for him to catch up.

After a little bit of 'pleasant' chit-chat discussing our bikes, he checked out our paperwork. Came back and said "I'm sure you know it is Mothers Day. I have to work, and can't go see my Mom today so I am going to give you a gift instead. I clocked you at 40 over! That is an automatic $257.00 + 4 demerits. 10 over. Even 20 over-OK. 40 over, I gotta talk to you. Keep it down and enjoy your ride".
No tickets! 8O 8O  Thank you Constable Smith! [B-o]

I got an offer on the Sportster today. I'm really thinking of taking a ride out to Edson to check it out. 2007 Vulcan 900 with under 10,000 km on it. She is offering the Vulcan + $3,500 cash. (lots of screwing around trying to resize the pic she sent! )

Yogi:

I have a Vulcan 900 Custom with me in South Africa and can contest that it is a great mid range cruiser. Pretty much maintenance free and enough guts to get you around without issue. The Classic in your picture has the same fuel injection and coolant system as mine and runs like a dream even in the SA Summer. Also lots of after market to add to the bike.

Can't see if it has the stoke exhaust but for additional growl a simple do it yourself de-baffle is a lot less expensive then a new after market system.

Mine is a 2009 and no issues Wainwright to Edmonton or Petawawa to Borden. So if it is in good condition and not been dropped have fun
