Moving to SW-ON
Not for 18 to 24 months but we still haven’t decided exactly where yet. We’re thinking London, Waterloo, Guelph or maybe St. Catherine’s at the moment.
Is anybody fermilure with the region? What’s your opinion on the best area to move to?

Try to avoid the larger cities and concentrate on smaller communities. Woodstock, Aylmer and similar areas are cheaper than the cities and still allow easy access to the larger areas for anything you might need.
By the way I am looking at the same move in approx the same time frame because the boss wants to move closer to family.
(I wanted to move back west, BC or Alberta)

I went to U of Waterloo and lived in London for a time.
Waterloo & Geulph are both fantastic cities with good affordable housing and a great deal to offer. Both are home to Universities & colleges and cater to a student lifestyle a fair bit but both are excellent places to raise a family.
London also has a student population but it is much larger and depending on where you live can feel like a big city or a nedium sized town. London can be a bit expensive living wise unless you choose to reside in the student areas.
St. Catherines I don't know much about.

That’s exactly the kind of atmosphere we’re looking for.

Pretty much the same reasons here. We need to be closer to our parents.
We had planned to bring our parents out here but the real-estate market has gotten too out of hand in the last few years. Neither of our parents can afford a home here any more. Of course that works to our advantage moving back.
I'd rather stay in AB or possibly move farther west. I don't know if I can handle that Ontario humidity any more.
