OI, GET THE MESSAGE!

AN American who threw a message in a bottle into the Atlantic got a reply from England - ticking him off for littering.

Capt Harvey Bennett, of New York, was thrilled when a letter arrived from a Henry Biggelsworth from Poole, Dorset.

But it read: "You may consider it an experiment on the path and speed of oceanic currents. I have another name for it - litter." Harvey, 55, cast five bottles into the sea last year.

What's the point?

"Hey it made it to England, neat! Now I have something to tell my grandkids!"

Message in a bottle -- The Police

Just a castaway, an island lost at sea, oh
Another lonely day, with no one here but me, oh
More loneliness than any man could bear
Rescue me before I fall into despair, oh

I'll send an S.O.S. to the world
I'll send an S.O.S. to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle, yeah
Message in a bottle, yeah

A year has passed since I wrote my note
But I should have known this right from the start
Only hope can keep me together
Love can mend your life but
Love can break your heart
I'll send an S.O.S. to the world
I'll send an S.O.S. to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle, yeah
Message in a bottle, yeah
Message in a bottle, yeah
Message in a bottle, yeah

Walked out this morning, don't believe what I saw
Hundred billion bottles washed up on the shore
Seems I'm not alone at being alone
Hundred billion castaways, looking for a home
I'll send an S.O.S. to the world
I'll send an S.O.S. to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle, yeah
Message in a bottle, yeah
Message in a bottle, yeah
Message in a bottle, yeah
Sending out at an S.O.S.
Sending out at an S.O.S.
Sending out at an S.O.S.
Sending out at an S.O.S.
Sending out at an S.O.S.
Sending out at an S.O.S...

I've geo-cached in the past - and now can't remember where the web page is where I posted the coordinates. 8O

While I sailed the seas on the east and west coast, I experimented with messages in tightly sealed bottles. Haven't received any confirmation to this date! Some are just luckier than others!

I'd say Mister Biggelsworth needs to extract the bottle currently resident up his rectum

I think the reply he got was hilarious.

Maybe I'm missing something but... glass is made of sand and paper is made of wood...

How is that littering?
