As declared by CBC.

looks like Ontarians don't want scary right wing government. Seems to me this was the PC's to lose.

Not in the slightest. It was never going to be a PC win. If anyone was a shoe in it was going to be the NDP. They thought they could win but got nothing for triggering the election. It appears we don't mind thieves running the province but are scared do the left and right.

Long and bad memories of Mike Harris and Bob Rae apparently. Voters probably wanted to stick with the middling corrupt incompetence of Liberals than roll the dice on the ideologues from the fringes. As is the voter's right, I suppose, but this kind of result ain't gonna do SFA to lift Ontario out of the economic doldrums they appear to be permanently mired in.

Stupid fricken red sheep voted for Orville Redenbacker again... Good job morons! Don't ever bitch about corruption in Ottawa when you can't get enough of it on your own turf. [B-o]

WEll there's hope for the right. They say Tony Clement will be the next PC leader.

Can't say I know much about Ontario politics, but CBC backs me up that this was Hudak's to lose. What is it about these guys that they have to come up with dipshit statements that turns people away from them? Religious school funding, mass firings...

The NDP certainly weren't ideologues in this election - their platform was essentially the same as the Libs. No reason to vote for them and possibly put the PC's into power.

BeaverFever @ Thu Jun 12, 2014 7:31 pm

Tory voters decided to become Lib voters. Liberals improve from minority to majority.

Cons can try to spin it any way they want but the voters REJECTED Hudak. This race was his to lose and he shit the bed big time chosing the far right hard line over a moderate approach. If only he had borrowed from Harpers playbook instead of Harris, and pretended to he centris, he might be premier now.

Centre @ Thu Jun 12, 2014 7:35 pm

Oh I'm conflicted indeed.

Not happy with a Lib gov but overjoyed at the bitch slapping Hudak got.

That loud sucking sound is coming from Ontario. Sucking up transfer payments from now until eternity. Have not province for life! [B-o]

Good job idiots.! On the bright side by the time the federal election rolls around Ontario will be sick of Mrs Popcorn and Puppy Chow and Trudeau will be up shit creek because of it.

BeaverFever @ Thu Jun 12, 2014 7:47 pm

Hudak to step down as leader. Called it.

I can't beleive they got a majority! Loss 45 billion dollars and get a reward. WTF

This could actually spell big trouble for JT. From what I understand, Ontario voters like to have different parties in power federally vs provincially. And any fuckups by Wynne will rub off on him. He'd better hope she's really good at turning Ontario around economically. From what I've read, that's a slim chance indeed.

Maybe. I don't get the feeling that the CPC is all that popular in Ontario right now, so maybe they'll be content at simply re-electing Rob Ford.
