Just a crazy question, maybe a really stupid one.
If you are going to build a web site, as a Canadian would you buy a .ca or .com
.ca being the Canadain extension
.com being the US extension.
The reason I ask is, I see lots of smaller companies in Canada with .com web sites. If they are not proud enough to register a .ca, then why hire that company.
Does it even make a difference to you??
I personally would get a .ca. I think a .ca is very popular, and as a Canadian I personally prefer .ca because I automatically know the website I'm dealing with is Canadian.
.com isn't really for the US, its international, like .net and .org
There is actualy a .us now as well.
Also in the 90's you could only get a .ca if you had a business that operated in multiple provinces, or else you could only get a .bc.ca
I like .ca, I have several .ca domains
.ca of course.
"Proud.ca"
Don't steal,
If I were to register a US domain...
It probably would be like "Canadaisbetterthenthe.us"
I love the CanadianHottie.ca
i guess if you want more traffic you gots to go .com. .ca is great internally but its like .poland or something. not what the majority of people look for.
i'd go .gov personally
I think the point of country codes is sometimes you can preference your search for things in your country like cars and such and maybe the .ca accounts might show up first? Perhaps if you are providing a service mostly to Canadians then .ca might be better but if you are international maybe a .com, .org, or even .net might be more suitable?
