What do you think? Has there been an increase in violence against women, or is there just more attention payed to it?

This sort of hits home for me right now, as my eldest daughter was strangled two nights ago by her husband as she held her 4 month old son.....the bastards lucky the police arrived before me.

Domestic violence...not just violence against women, but child abuse, elder abuse etc...always goes up during times of social strife. It could be a reaction to stress or it could be that violence seems a more acceptable reaction.

Violence against women is actually down according to the biased surveys of the feminazis at NAC who continue to whine about taxpayer funded grants being cut thereby cutting and slicing and dicing the high standard of living to which they had become accustomed.

What is up however, according to them, is violence against men.

Domestic violence is on the rise. It's a subject I've been paying attention to for a few years.

Strangled! Dare I ask, is she ok?

Hopper @ Sun Dec 12, 2004 7:27 am

She's a little shaken up Scape, but ok overall. I was actually not terribly surprised (unfortunately). He's now got a restraining order and can't see her or their kid until his court appearance in February. I'm just hoping he decides to go back to his home province, never to be heard from again - of course I know people that could do that for me too...... :D

As an extra insult, he drained their bank account. Nice guy.

She'll probably be fine. She'll be back with him in days. He'll keep the violence up. There's only about one chance in a thousand that he'll actually kill her, but she'll live most of her life with some kind of pain or discomfort. Her hearing will suffer; and perhaps her eyesight. She will lose five to twenty years off her possible life span. Of course any children they have will continue on with the tradition, seeing that Mommy and Daddy endorse it.

If he hit you once he'll hit you again and again until you're dead. People don't change.

I hear that castration works.

Takes all the....testosterone out of them! Also...frontal labotomies work great. Castration is easier to perform at home though

oh come on Figfarmer, it's better then having him reproduce isn't it?

Laureena bit off John's penis not his balls (although I'm thinking she made a mistake on her choice of items). Besides which I hear he has a carreer in porn now.

That embellishment makes the story even more peculiar. She hacked it with a knife. You're thinking of the Stephen King story.

Maybe The World According to Garp?
