How's everybody else doing in southern Ontario with the heat? Word is that it will break by Thursday, which is nice as I'll stop sticking to everything.
The weather has just been plain weird this June. I was checking the weather back home in Nova Scotia for June 13th (yesterday). I from Bridgewater, near Lunenburg, but 20 km inland. The high yesterday in Lunenburg was 12 C, but in Bridgewater, a 15 minute drive away, the high was 32 with a humidex of 43. 4 hours later the temperature dropped to 15. What's going on?
I'm not calling for a summer like last year, just for some more normal weather and a little less humidity.
How's everybody else faring?
Weather?
It's been unusually hot and humid for western MA, USA as well. Too many days above 90 for my taste.
Cooler weather is rolling in off of Lake Huron as I type this. Its dropped over 5 C in the last 10 minutes. Watch out for thunderstorms. We just lost our satellite signal and rain is starting to fall.
OK, its a torrential downpour now.
I'm in California where the spring featured tornadoes that we never see here and now the summer has yet to show itself and we're expecting rain and cold weather this weekend - it almost never rains here after May 1 and this year it won't stop and our snowfall in the mountians is in some places 200% of normal.
Yep, I'll go with weird.
I like the weather in BC right now, rainy but havent had enough to flood
I live in southern Ontario.
Last night... a better part of the province was under storm alert.
Not a pleasant evening.
More rain than I'm used to seeing for this part of the world. I'm in Edmonton and it has rained pretty consistently for the past few weeks. Not constantly mind you, but enough that it could be considered odd to the casual observer such as myself.
I'm living in southern Taiwan and we had the coldest winter I 've ever experienced here and one of the coldest the locals can remember. Our overnight lows actually dropped to 3 C and this along with weeks of rain, wind, buildings made of concrete with no heating or insulation made it a little uncomfortable There was actually snow in the low lying hills around Taipei, below 1000 m. This spring has seen heavier than normal rain to the south part of the island as well as southern China. This wierd weather is a global phenomena. After all of this rain, heat and humidity for the past few weeks I'm ready to return to the 'Peg and taxes.
we just had our second flood of the month and more rain in june then we get all year.
Some of the smaller places south of Calgary like okotoks and sundre got hit hard, water right over the stop signs in town and you could go boating now in most fields.Todays the first day it has'nt rained now in over 3 weeks.
Drumheller gets the flood alert tonight and then things should return to normal.
Exactly 10 years ago we had the same amount of precipitation and floods.
Coming through high river the other day I watched the jughounds laying down siesmic line in the fields and some were walking through waist deep water. Thats one job I wouldnt want.
I had to wade through hip deep water to get home, during the last flood(last week), and here they don't have seperate storm and sewer lines. Yep, that's right, up to my hips in shit and piss. A couple of years back, we had a tropical front stall out on top of us. One woman in our building drowned when she took the elevator to B4 of the underground parkade to check on her Beemer.
