Probably the best of all the Star Trek movie opening themes, from the second best of all the Star Trek films.
When I saw this in the theater back in 1996 I was hungover and overly emotional. So I nearly started crying at the moment in the theme when the cymbals clashed. Then I did start crying for real when Cochran and the other humans on a war-blasted Earth met the Vulcans for the first time.
I have a lot of regrets in my life. I've never once had a single second of regret though from being a genre-geek and I'm proud of having had Star Trek as a constant over the last fifty years to carry me through along the way.
