what is your favorite thing about canada? i was trying to find this out so please leave a post thanks
@=(",@)
the fact that it's not the states...
this means:
it doesn't smell
people aren't ignorant
people aren't rude
the beer is better
hockey is always aired
it snows all over Canada and not just in the North..(I live in Las Vegas and we rarely get snow )
health insurance is free
we know how to spell words like colour, favour, labour and honour
there're a lot of reasons, but I can't think of anymore right now...
later days!
the thing i like about canda is people enjoy life here even if they're bums drunks and drug addicts. they love to be here in canada where some people will care for them. the fact that not many things in canada are controled by fear. when you walk on the sidewalk people give you room to pass by, unlike the americans whish most are selfcentered and like to use the middle of the side walk. oh yea the beer is 5% and over unlike american piss juice.
p.s. sorry american members for ripping on your beer i just hate it thats all.
HockeyBabe,
You have a good idea on Canadian spelling and such. You also know a lot of the differences from the U.S. But when you said that it doesn’t just snow in the North but in act all over Canada, you are kind ‘a wrong their my friend. For example, we wont be expecting snow this year where I live (I don’t live in the north) it is sunny as I speak! It was also really hot yesterday and the day before that. Its not just where I live, its where other people live. Such as a good part of southern B.C (Not every part of southern B.C but a good part). Anyway I just thought I might point that out, because YES there are a lot of cities in southern Canada that have snow but its not as cold like you think (Americans).
It makes me mad sometimes when some Americans say that it’s so cold and freezing out here. Some I heard thought that most people here lives in Egg loos! It just that the American education system is so secluded from the rest of the world that it just doesn’t get the real facts toward other countries. One guy I talked to who was 41 thought that Canada was apart of the same country of the U.S! I am not saying Americans are stupid, I am just saying that they are secluded from learning the real things around them.
P.S Did you here about the 40- that happened in Toronto?
Yea, the 40- was yestrday and the day before. It was quite nice(I was born in Russsia so its all the same to me). Its much better now,we got some snow in hopes that it wont rain(LOL) tomorrow.
p.s. Canada, Canada,Canada. I was in a hurry.
LOL.
Yea, did you hear about the people with frozen toilets?
That must suck.
yeah, I understand that Canada is not just one big glacier and that it gets hot in the summers, but what I meant is that the weather is not so bad as it is in Las Vegas, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and other hot states...I agree that Americans don't learn enough about other countries...In Canada, you pretty much have North American history, but here in the states, it's US history and then World history and that is SO stupid! because Americans don't know a thing about Canadians and when they say that it's freezing, it's not like the North Pole or something...I just don't want to be mistaken as one of those dumb americans who think that Canada has 9 months of winter... Just a question...what's the hottest temperature that any city in Canada ever gets to? I think here in Las Vegas, It's like 40ºC...ouch!
that's why I can't wait to move to Québec next year...I'm here right now and we've got flurries...it's -18º brrrr, but I have my toque and scarf, so I'm ok...well I think I'm done babbling for today! later days!
I used to build houses year round and I've seen the temperature in the summer get to around 35, but not lately...and in winter -38 without the windchill...Winnipeg is a very windy city so with the windchill it can be as cold as -60 or less...
That wind can make building houses a challenge too...A guy I was framing with became a giant kite one day when he was carrying a piece of OSB. We gave up for the day after that...it clearly wasn't safe. We took him to the bar and fed him the kind of painkillers that come in brown bottles until his bruises didn't hurt anymore.
I always hated framing in the winter. Compressors and nail guns don't work, you can't feel your fingers, you always have to boost somebody's truck. Everybody is bitchy all the time when it's like that. Same with when it gets really hot in the summer.
For those who do live in Canada around the Canadian Shield and Great Lake Area may notice that the weather changes rapidly with little warning. I remeber 2 years ago around here we had 34 C and 32C for two days in the month of April. No joke, eh!(lol)
well try that kind of weather year around...but so far in November and December, it hasn't gone over 18ºC....but yeah Las Vegas has 9 months of summer and 3 months of fall...we don't have a winter..but lucky me I'm in Longueuil so I don't have to worry, because we've got flurries!
Where I live people will wave thanks when you stop at the crosswalk for them.
Hahahahahaahahaha. Must be a fun place to live in. But atleast they say thank you.better than getting a finger.
