Just thought it would be fun to see what kinds of messed up jobs we all have had at one point and time!?

Me... I would have to say that my first two jobs were my worst ever!

For three years back in the day, I worked at a local dog kennel. It was pretty cool getting to be around and play with all the dogs... but then there was always the nasty job of cleaning up ALL the sh*t!!!?

Did a VERY short stint during High School working in the fast food industry... it was a HARDEE's to be exact. I was done when the french fryer caught on fire one night and burned the entire restaurant to the ground!!! NO.... I didn't do it... really!? I wasn't even working that night.

Spent three summers working as a lifeguard at "The Sleepy Hollow Athletic Club" which is located in Green Hills, Pennsylvania. That HAD to be one of the best jobs it the free world!!! Sitting around a pool all day and checking out the girls in the bikini's.... it was GREAT!!! In three years there was only one time when I actually had to save a little boy who was about 5 or 6.

Now... for the past 15 years... I work for an Engineering and Consulting company in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. All and all it a really good job that helps to pay the bills... at least until I win the lottery... yeh right!?

Now let's see what everyone else has!?????????? R=UP

My worst job ended three weeks ago. I work in food processing (furits and vegetables and whatnot) so I see a lot of things that I wish I could unlearn about how food is handled before it gets to your plate. (Tip: don't buy jam from a supermarket shelf). The starting pay sucks ($8.50/hr) for some shitty work. One job requires you to stand in place for a whole shift pushing pea pods away under a very loud industrial motor that would render you deaf by the end of the shift if you didn't have ear protection.

Also, sleep deprivation is the norm. On my last day there this summer, I got off work at 2 AM and had to be back for a shift at 8 AM. And then they expected me to work hard and energetically on 3 hours of sleep.

I HATE THAT PLACE! If I worked there for 20 years as some have, I would slit my wrists after the 3rd year.

2 jobs come immediately to mind:

1. Brownies Fried Chicken - I was working in the back as a grease monkey. What a hell hole cleaning pots and pans and dropping chicken into the oil.

2.Window washer - Great in the summer, in the winter what a different story. Vancouver=rain in the winter. NOT FUN! I just stopped showing up to work one day right in the dead middle of winter. Never again.

My worst job was working in the fast food restaurant business for several years in management. I worked up to 110 hours in a week (not an exagerration), frequently went up to two weeks without a day off, and never was paid for most of the bonuses I earned - they always came up with a BULLSHIT reason why the money I'd worked so hard to earn was not going to be paid.

So after moving on to not-as-crappy jobs I went back to school, got my degree and now I'm living well.

OK...I win this contest hands down......just take your pick

1....imho the worst I've had...Hickman Rentals in Corner Brook Nfld......4.75 an hr...10-12 hrs a day...no overtime paid....then the boss hires a "friend" whom he pays twice as much as me(I was there for a year at this point)....small justice at the end.....I punched him in the nose the day I told him to fuck himself.

2....50912 Holdings Ltd... Mile 56(?) on the Alaska Hiway, near Ft St John...a ranch...me straight off the rock....lots of fun shoveling cow shit outta trailers..mmmm mmm....and apparently a Newfie riding a horse for the first time is rather amussing  ....but not to the Newfie....them fucking things don't have brakes eh!

3...Barry's Seafoods...Corner Brook Nfld.....at "the plant" I had the privilage of (at times) working the gut table where you scrape the guts outta fish(usually mackrel) with your finger nail(sure helps stop you from chewing your fingernails!)....yup if you knew you were gonna work the gut table you got really really really high first! but hey...when you don't have much of a choice, you'd be surprised at what you will do, and the plant paid rather well when compaired to others..8.50 an hr...plus overtime after 8(and garunteed you're working more than 8 )...double time after 12( which wasn't a rarity)...1 1/2 times on Sundays...no slackers at the plant......alot of stoned people but no slackers!

1. Pitchforking steaming compacted bark chips for 10 hours a day. Actually night because I had the graveyard shift.
They had a bank of 8 2-story high vats they loaded full of bark and ran a solvent through to get an extract. Then they ran steam through to clean it. Then the bark had to be unloaded via a combination of manual labour and gravity. Once I got it out of the vats and broken up a vaccum system took it away.
2. Putting labels on folders, 8 hours a day.
We each had a little "press" to put those multicoloured labels on medical folders. Load label, load folder, press. Load label, load folder, press. Mindnumbing.
Though gutting fish and slitting pig throats does have me beat. :-)

Caught chickens once many summers ago, still traumatized by the entire filthy event.

John Prine thought baby poop was the worst kind, but he obviously hadn't experienced chicken poop.

I have to deal with baby shit on a daily basis. I've gotten over the level 4 containment suits long ago. Babies unlike chickens, don't scratch the hell out of you and smear their feces into the wounds, they just fling it around if they can get their hands on it.
