Think they may have changed the propellant in it so its not so flammable, havent tried lighting a bud up lately so dont know. :o

When the ether can was empty WD40 was a last resort to start big diesels in -40.

i was just wondering Ziggy, with all it's wonderful uses maybe you could try it on your foot. Think it might help? Let us know. ;)
all I can do for my foot is get a knitting needle to take care of the itchy parts, todays the first day without the tylenol3's and if things dont loosen up soon theres only one place that WD40 is going.

Someone should have told me that shite bungs you up. 8O

It's still best at displacing water,Wet distributor caps are fixed instantly with a shot of WD40.
Also with small engines that sit for a season,a few shots in the plug hole will get and keep the water out of the crank and the bearings.Same with in the gas tank if you think it has water in it.
Spray around your vehicles intake manifold or small engine cylinder heads while running to check for intake leaks(engine will rev up).

I have a ceiling fan with those little chandelier lights, when they burn out the glass usually blows off the screw in part,a light coating of WD40 on the threads fix's this problem.

The nice thing about WD40 is its conductive and wont screw up electrical components.

Ziggy...it's actually non-conductive, thats why you can use it on ignition systems as a water displacer.

It's also one the major dust attractors.

To protect engines use a silicon based spray, no silicon in WD40.

Someone once said it's good for arthritis. 8O

I used to do lots of 4 wheeling and the mudholes would kill the ol chev 350's if you had any kind of a bad seal in your distributor.

Plus when I was running the worlds largest diesel electric loader and it screwed up the first thing the sparky would do is spray down all the computer cards in the grid box with weasel pee.

Dont think I would put it on my floor though,it is petroleum based.

All I know is you are to always use the straw that comes with it. The straw is not just for tight spots but it also contains the vapours and keeps it a liquid.

It cant be that bad, itdoesnt have an MSDS sheet to go with it as per WHMIS rules that I know of(unless somethings changed lately)

There ya go.

Shows how much attention I pay to whmis sheets now that I'm not working around chemicals anymore.

Does everyone have chemical resistant gloves and a respirator stored with their WD40? Dont' forget your PPE when using the WD. :)

I once did 6 months as a janitor and had lots of time to read the whmis manuals, now I have box's of latex gloves and wont touch a petroleum product without them or barrier cream. Gone are the days of washing the grease off your hands useing leaded gas. 8O

I remember the teacher in grade 4 science class handing out vials of mercury to examine and if you spilled a few drops in your palm,it would ball up and roll around like a ball bearing. Little did we know back then we were getting poisoned.
