That's why we need to vote conservative !
I was surprised last election actually that people in Quebec voted for the Tories. But they are part reform based party and more into decentralising the government so I guess it makes sense.
Is Quebec still Catholic at all or does the church have much relevance in people’s lives there? I seen lots of churches in Quebec when I was there so I always thought you chaps were more traditional and reserved.
Le passage de Jean-René Dufort n'était qu'une blague... voyons donc, si vous avez pris ça sérieusement...

Religion lost alot of its importance on Quebecers, which long ago has.
Quebecois are not very traditionnal, we are mostly far left.
I can't say for sure, but I think one of the major reason why so much people voted conservative was because of the medias (and of course, the scandal played a big part too ). I remember prior to the elections.. well, there was about 75% Conservative Party talk going on on the news. Interviews with new conservatives that said that the Bloc betrayed them, ect. Which was quite strange, since I never witnessed such biased news, even on Radio-Canada, which is always neutral in its view of politics.
But now, as we see the popularity of the Conservatives in Quebec...

Religion is out since when we kicked it out of the state in the 60'-70's.
There's a lot of churches but they are all empty.

Yes I thought so but was wondering why they had all these churches but I guess no one uses them.

So Quebec now is mostly just socialists then?

Like everywhere, people living in big cities (Montreal) are more "leftists" than in the rural areas. I don't think there are more leftists in Quebec than in Ontario or in CB. Most people are at the center. The problem is that the unions have almost more power than the government in the medias... well at least they think they have.
In the rural areas, that's where the conservative vote is.
