The latest strategic council poll gives the Liberals a four point lead nationwide. I also saw another poll by a Vancouver polling firm (Mustel group) that shows the Liberals gaining considerable ground in B.C.

Actually, I'd say it increases the likelyhood that there will be no Federal election until at least spring 2008.

The NDP can't be in any hurry to go, and the Bloc likely isn't either.

There is always the question of whether Harper will try to capitalize on the fact that Dion has had little time to firmly grasp the reins of his party, but with polling numbers like that it can't be worth the risk.

Especially given that there will be elections in Ontario and Quebec this year as well.

As long as they are leading and I agree, I hope Dion doesn't f this up. I won't be able to stand the damn cons for another term.

The best news this poll gives Liberals is that the Tories will think twice before they try to catch us unprepared.

We've still got a long way to go to convince Canadians we're offering a better alternative to the Conservatives. Part of it will be convincing those who parked their votes with the NDP that we have solid, progressive policies to offer, and part of it will be convincing those who went over the Conservatives that we have policies that better represent them, and are trustworthy enough to implement them.

I hope Dion wins. Harper hasn't done too bad, but let's not give him a chance to do bad. Stop the disaster before it happens! :D

Yea, let's get back to lip service, cuts to our programs and all that jaz. It's so damn strange to see a politician follow through on a promise or two, it's almost scary. :x

As much as we all appreciate debate, OTI, might I remind you that you're in the Liberal section... or, as Bodah so neatly put it over in your lounge...

$1:
And according to forum rules in this section , your not supposed to go against the flow or start a debate here .... So please feel free to leave the theatre at anytime.

Just sayin'. :D
Does this mean liberals will stay out of the conservative forum now? Because they haven't yet. They even start threads in there.

I don't care who posts, where, RUEZ. I was just indulging in my favourite past-time - pointing out hypocrisies. And thanks to you, I have another for my collection - did you know that 8/26 topics in the Liberal section were started by Cons? Compare that to ~3/24 in your section, and, well..... :D
Oh I now it goes both ways, I'm just sayin'......
