Lets see I'm an American and I've no idea what the P.E.I. stands for and am using FB and Clogeroo's willingness to inform me through communication, in this case the communication is via this forum. So yeah why are you surprised by someone admitting they don't know something and asking for clarification on it?

What surprise's me is your unwillingness or inability to answer the question.

I gather the link I supplied is still beyond your limited american comprehension.

What I WASN`T surprised by was the fact that yet another american doesn`t have a clue about, what is supposedly, one of americas closest neighbours, allies, and largest trading partners.

You're going to have to better phrase your question. What exactley is it you want explained? The number of districts for the house...the senate......how they are determined....when were they determined........ length of time between elections......max term one can sit.......... what exactley?

Your question shows your on the wrong track your thinking of the US Congress. But then again why am I surprised by such questions from the supposedly great Canadian known as GerryHurt?

See I can play the same stupid game as you.

What alliteration?

And I like how you equate an abbreviation with a far more complex question. Nice subliminal message there. :D

Either I could have missed the link (don't think I did but I could have) or he put it in prior to or actually right when I was posting. It was his comment that ticked me off more then anything.

And I figured sense he was so well versed in everything and thus never needs to ask a question why not fire off some side little thing at him and let him show that he does not know all.

How does that show that he's thinking of the US Congress? Having been a resident of the state at a previous point in my life, I can tell you that Ohio has a House and a Senate, each with a different number of districts, and they are determined a certain way, they were determined a certain time, there is a length of time between the elections, and there is a maximum term they can sit.

If you were still confused about the P.E.I. election:

P.E.I. stands for Prince Edward Island. You probably haven't heard of it before, and you probably never will again. It has the population of a moderately-large town, and isn't particularly notable on a map.

Unlike the United States, there aren't uniform election dates across Canada. Local, provincial, and federal elections all (usually) take place at different times. In most provinces and in the federal government, the premier decides when the next election takes place within a 5-year window, unless he loses the confidence of the legislature (either by a directly-stated question or by losing on a budget vote), after which he must resign immediately or call an election.

Every province in Canada has only one house in their legislative branch. Quebec had two until the 1960s or so, but they decided it was stupid and got rid of it. Unlike the US, where there will be multiple issues and offices to decide at elections, you are only faced with one decision in Canada: the MP, MLA, MPP, MHA, (representative) etc. for your riding (electoral district). The standing in the legislature after the election determines which party's leader becomes the Premier and forms a government, much in the way it is determined who becomes Speaker of the House in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Read my question again I asked for the legislator election system for the house legislators for the state of Ohio. simple really if you read it. I said house thus meaning house for the legislator branch of the Ohio state legislators.

This is an edit part. Ok I've reread my response and even to me it sounds very smart assed. Sorry I did not mean for it to come out in such a way. So sorry WBenson IF you take/took it that way. It truly was not meant to be.

Thanks I find that all very very interesting on how the elections work in Canada and other countries.

Anyways, PEI is Canada's smallest province, both in landmass and population. It is a small island located just north of the other two maritime provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia on the east coast, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The other two provinces listed being of the same land area as the New England district in the US. as PEI is an Island, its name stands for Prince Edward Island.

while they are the smallest province, they got the biggest bridge, which pisses us Vancouver Islanders on the west coast off royally now that we keep getting boned by the BC ferry corporation.

Other then that there isn't much that io know about the place, except that they grow some tasty potatoes.

Actually....you play the "stupid game" all by yourself in this thread. The only thing that "surprised" me, when I was double checking on what I already knew, was that Nebraska doesn't use a bicameral legislature like the rest of the states do.

PEI is the birthplace of Canadian confederation, I always thought that to be rather significant.

You want to quote article and section. I can't find anything aside from giving the legislature the authority to create counties. Even then there are restrictions imposed.
