I don't care about the political spin on everything because I'm guilty of that too, but slagging the troops with torture is too much:

Wow what a shock
Canadian soldiers have killed more than what can consider to be accidental killings of innocent civillians.
So it comes as no surprise they are torturing them.
I have no doubt, Canadians torturing Afghanis are orders from the white house

I'd like a retraction or clarification that the sons & daughters of Canadian families are not blanket terrorists and murderers.
I'd also like to nominate "Taliban" Jack Layton for this exact crime. Although we have no proof that he posts here, we have no proof that he does not, and If he ever does, I'd like him to know how displeased some of us are.

Freedom of political free speech is a "shield" against the government, because she thinks our troops are murders and decides to voice it, does not make her less of a Canadian.
Actually, I think because she is upholding here right as a Canadian to voice here opinion in a civil manner, I think she is more Canadian than you.
You are toting the Harper/Bush line of Anti-War = Anti-American.
It's not like our Canadian troops have never beat up "Somali" prisoners of war before. 
In 1993, Canadian soldiers based in Somalia as part of a peacekeeping mission tortured and beat to death a 16-year-old boy.

Pitty the saying that " inncent untill proven guilty" that the left uses so often isn't used for our sons and daughters who happen to have jobs in the service, or defence ministers.
O'Connor is uniquely qualified to actually do that job, the first in over a decade and, based on rumors from our enemy, the Liberals want him to step aside.

I'm well aware of Somalia, the political cover-up and the foolish over-correction that followed. Acting on proof of crimes is one thing but a blanket statement against all troops is slightly more than good natured freedom of speech.
May I remind you that Don Cherry was boo'd by the Liberals in parliament, and would probably have been given the anti-cannuck medal for simply saying some hockey playing frenchies are winps.
