Firecat should get the sociopath medal for starting this thread, including all those who agree with him/her, for aiding and abetting.

I'll second that in the true spirit of partisanship these things always end up being.

Oh, I thought it had more to do with the nature of the posts' writings. I'd like to see a sampling of offensive posts by me to support this nomination. I'd be happy to answer for them. If I merit the award, I have no doubt my posts would be so several and offensive someone could remember a few without much trouble. :)

Since I can anticipate a rehash of thwacker's selective quote of mine in this thread and his twisted meaning so he could take umbrage, I'll concede and apologise for saying "perhaps [you] call your mother an offensive word.

I was not talking about about your offensive posts but the fact that you generated this thread, offensive in it's ideology, which is sociopathic behaviour.
This to include the little band of followers....or should that be band of little followers.

Firecat needs to admit that hooker, whore, prostitute and sex trade worker all describe the same thing.

But they don't. Not exactly. Hookers, prostitutes and sex trade workers all charge money. Whores don't necessarily.

Personally, I find the word offensive and demeaning.
I posted this earlier, I'll post it again.

Main Entry: 1whore
Pronunciation: 'hor, 'hur
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English hore, from Old English hOre; akin to Old Norse hOra whore, hOrr adulterer, Latin carus dear -- more at CHARITY
1 : a woman who engages in sexual acts for money : PROSTITUTE; also : a promiscuous or immoral woman
2 : a male who engages in sexual acts for money
3 : a venal or unscrupulous person

Offensive or not, it is a word that is synonymous with prostitute or hooker.
