In light of Barts recent topic about posting your favourite pic of Mohammad I request the removal of his 'Cool Yankee" medal.

That wasn't cool and I find it disgraceful and disrespectful to the site.

Any comments/pics made in response to his topic I deem invalid because they were baited by Bart. Bart knew full well his topic would create a shit storm...also uncool.

Remove his Cool Yankee medal.

   

I agree but for a different reason. I see him pushing American intrests and agendas quite a bit. (death penalty, Iraq war etc etc)

That's fine and everything, but this is a Canadian site. I live in the US, this is where I go for my daily Canadian fix. I like Canada and would not have it become another state. A "cool Yank" would appreciate Canada, not push American ways on Canucks.

The great white north has enough trouble with that. (re no deep integration...)

I agree with robairs reason whole heartedly, and because of this i can't agree with Ripcat's. because up here in canada we have a freedom of speech thing (which I think should be scrapped because of people like bart). so Bart is allowed to say what he wants no matter what it is.

   

I didn't say he couldn't say it/post it or that it should be deleted or that he should be suspended/banned/censored or whatever, I said that I feel what he posted was uncool and therefore he is no longer deserving of the Cool Yankee medal.

Just because you can say what you want doesn't make you cool....

   

I take it you missed the thread lily. You may as well lose the dove of peace because there won't ever be any if people continue to act as Bart did with his post.

Someone who has a 'cool' label should be showing virtue and self-control. Someone who disgraces themselves and disrespects their 'home' like that even once should not carry a 'cool' label.

In one post:

Thoroughly trashed another's religion: uncool.
Treated all those of that religion as like minded: uncool.
Disrespected CKA and many of it's members with that post: uncool.
Shit on his host: uncool.
Said something he'd only say through the safety of his keyboard: uncool.
Acted hypocritical: uncool.
Baited fellow members with extreme prejudice: uncool.

That one thread, in my opinion, is enough to lose a 'cool' label. He can keep the Yankee part of it.

   

It's not just one thread.

I couldn't understand how he got the medal in the first place. He has post apon post calling for the extermination of Muslims. He was much worse when he first showed up. He's toned it down a bit, but this thread was just the 'ol Bart poking through.

   

That's just not true. He has post upon post protesting that the threat is not taken seriously enough, and, true, occasionally postulates broad vengeance.


I wouldn't even say it goes as far as anti-Muslim racism.


Taking Islamists seriously is a form of respect, (perhaps an inverted one, but nevertheless... ).

   

Somebody recently posted some offensive material and got suspended.

One difference between that and this is that there, the material was offensive in it's own right,...

here people are offended on behalf of other people. That just doesn't rise to the same level.


Besides, you could easily say there was some sort of 'comment' or 'idea' or 'parody' in Bart's post. In the other stuff, there was nothing.

   

In the alternative, I move that Bart's appropriate punishment be that Ripcat create a thread called "Nomination for Removal of Cool Yankee medal from BartSimpson", and then that the matter be dismissed.

   

I see that the Uber-Canuck medal is for those that are supportive of CKA. Well I spend my money here, why doesn't that count?

   

Read it again. It actually says, “Member who is super patriotic and supportive of CKA.”

You don’t qualify as super patriotic.

   

For a long time now I have felt that Bart shouldn't of been granted the “Cool Yankee” medal. That is my view on it and I haven't even read the thread that is causing all this controversy. I am all for the removal of the "cool Yankee" medal as well because it looks to me he hasn't maintained it. However, the question is whether or not it would be fair, I would have to examine his posts more closely and talk it over with the fellow moderators.

   

Here is another example for you lily:

An innocent thread highjacked by Bart to push his agenda. -- uncool, especially given the topic of the thread and causing another member to be baited into replying.

...and I'm not even looking for more examples...
