susanlinda8234 for Necroposter
susanlinda8234 in her very brief time on the board has gone above and beyond the call of duty in resurrecting long dead topics and I believe she's earned the appropriate recognition for her contributions in confusing current events with past issues.

Seconded. And, don't encourage it!

This is why I suggested auto-locking any thread that hasn't seen any activity for a month. As a minimum it keeps the annoyances down. At best it'll keep a lot of spammers using the archive backdoor at bay.

I think commenting on the odd old story is fine and maybe relevant. But when the list is one after the other for that sole purpose? Then .....WE GOTS A PROBLEM.

In fact if there's one more set of these Necro posts...........he/she will be gone.
I sense a disturbance in The Force, as if a banhammer were being lifted, and a necroposter were crying out in pain . . .and was suddenly silenced!

I just gave he/she a "New" start point.

Well thats not very nice, When I click on a forum topic, I just look at the ones that pop up first. Why are the threads not deleted or stopped after sometime? I just dont look at the dates...

If you click on the "Board Index" then the most recent topics are listed there.
For future reference, restarting an old topic is only relevant if you have new information that applies to that topic.
Like say some movie star says she's pregnant nine months ago and now you're updating the topic with the report of the birth. That's fine.
But commenting and putting an old topic back up at the top of the recent topics list is bad form.
FYI - those guidelines are a form of manners that apply on every English-speaking forum I know.

Otherwise it's like someone walks into your living room and starts finishing conversations that you started 5 years ago.

Welcome to the board!
Warnings should be put up on the registration page. Seems the vast majority of newbs suffer the same uncontrollable urge to necro the place to death.
