COLUMBUS was Jewish, and a Christian.

Forgive me for cutting up your People. The apple of your eye, I truly apologise. Oh God.
The Hebraic Prophetic Roots Of America’s Discovery
1. Christopher Columbus was believed to have been of both Jewish and Italian
descent. Born in Genoa, Italy, his roots actually were from Spain.
2. His paternal grandfather was a converse who had his name
changed from Colon to Columbo.
3. Coversos were Jews who had, by choice or necessity, converted
to Christianity.
4. To survive Jewish annihilation during the Spanish Inquisition,
Columbus was raised a Christian.
5. His use of the Spanish form of his name in his dairies and letters
along with certain oddities lend great credence to the fact that he
was Jewish.
6. Colon is a Spanish-Jewish name.
7. The name Colombo is synonymous with the name “JONAH,”
which means, “dove.”
8. Jonah was the first Hebrew prophet sent to a Gentile nation but
rebelled and found himself thrown overboard by lots during a
fierce storm.
9. Prior to discovering America, Columbus found his fleet being
tossed at sea by a violent storm on his return from the New
World. The storm was so strong he recommended that the crew
appease God with a sacrificial vow. One from among them was to
vow to make a pilgrimage to a particular monastery if they
survived. Columbus took 39 beans and marked a cross on one of
them. They drew lots a total of four times and each time
Columbus drew the marked bean.
10. Jonah’s mission was to go to a Gentile nation and be a light but
when he disobeyed, God intervened with a storm. God used a
storm to likewise push Columbus to discovering what we know
today as North and South America.
11. Columbus sometime signed his name in a peculiar triangular
form. Some historians believe this alluded to his Jewish heritage.
12. In 1484, Columbus was 33 years old. This is the year of a man’s
life known in Italy as “anno de Christo,” the year of Christ, which
according to tradition is reserved for revelation.
13. He felt he had received divine revelation to sail west and to take
the name of Christ to the ends of the earth. Later in his dairies he
likened himself to a modern day Moses.
14. It is possible that Columbus quest for gold was in his heart more
for the restoration of Israel and the Temple than just lust for
riches. He wanted to expel the Muslims.
15. On MARCH 30, 1492 King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella signed a
decree to expel the Jews from Spain. Until that time Spain had
been one of only a few safe havens for Jewish people.

16. This date of March 30, 1492 coincided with the coronation of
Cyrus King of Persia many years prior. Cyrus made it possible for
the Jews to return to Israel after Babylonian captivity and rebuild
the city of Jerusalem for the Holy Temple. One year later, Ezra
left Babylon to assist with reconstruction.
17. On April 30, 1492, one much after the edict, it was read publically.
The same day, Columbus, received his order to sail westward and
to prepare for his expedition. The edict by Ferdinand and Isabella
helped this take place.
18. The year 1491-1492 corresponds to the Hebrew year fdsa (5252)
19. The numbers mean “har nov,” meaning “mount of fruit.” This year
(1492) was the year that the Lord determined to raise up a nation
that would bring forth fruit for His glory.
20. On August 2, 1492, thousands of Jewish people departed from
Spain. One of their ports of departure was Palos, the same port
from which Columbus had intended to depart. He delayed the
voyage one day which is significant. The 2nd of August, 1492 fell
on the 9th of Av on the Hebrew Calendar. According to Jewish
tradition, the 9th of Av is considered cursed.
a. The 12 scouts sent out by Moses returned with a bad report
b. The Exodus generation was condemned to die on this date
c. Nebuchadnezzar set fire to the first Temple
d. Romans destroyed the second Temple.
e. Romans plowed up the Temple Mount to convert it to a Roman
colony.
f. The last independent outpost of Bar Kochba rebellion fell to the
Romans on this date.
g. King Edward of England expelled all Jewish people on this date in
1290 A.D.
h. The last group of Jews left Vienna in 1670 after expulsion from
Austria
i. The Turkish government banned immigration of Russian and
Romanian Jews into Palestine in 1882.
j. World War I began, precipitated by the assassination of Archduke
Francis Ferdinand.
k. A decree to expel the Jews from pats of Hungary was issued on
this date in 1941.
21. On August 3, 1492, Columbus received communion and set sail
aborad his flagship, the Santa Maria. Martin Vincente and
Francisco Pinzon commanded the Nina and the Pinta, the two
ships that accompanied the Santa Maria. The 10th of Av is
historically understood to be the date both Temples were burned
to the ground.
22. Columbus planned the voyage very carefully. Jewish people were
included in his crew – Luis de Torres, whom Columbus hired as

an interpreter because he truly expected to find a remnant of the
lost tribes of Israel at his destination. The physician, the
mapmaker, and the officer in charge of nautical instruments were
also Jewish.
23. On October 9, 1492 Columbus and crew faced a mutiny and crisis
on board ship in the middle of the Atlantic. The ship wandered
aimlessly as Columbus promised the crew that if they did not find
land in three days, he’d turn the ship around.
24. The date for this event is Tishri 5253 – The middle of the Jewish
Feast of Tabernacles, or Sukkot. This feast commemorates
Israel’s wilderness wanderings with no place to call home. God
instructed Israel to dwell in booths during this feast to remember
the nights that they slept under the stars.
25. Under the night stars, a man named Columbus wandered through
waters of unknown destiny en route to America even as Israel
wandered through the wilderness in search of HER destiny.
26. October 12, Rodrigo De Triana (A JEWSIH PERSON?) spotted
land. When Columbus heard this historians say he spoke Hebrew
to the other crew!
27. October 12 was the 71rst day of the voyage. In Bible numerology,
70 represent restoration. Israel was in Babylon 70 years and
returned to the Holy Land in the beginning of the 71rst year. It
was also 21 Tishri on the Hebrew Calendar – the day of Hoshanah
Rabbah. Hoshanah means “please save now.” And Rabbah
means “many.” The Hebrew liturgy for this day was composed of
prayers that plead with God to be saved. In the ancient Temple,
was well as in synagogues today, worshipers take the four
animals and mach around the court of the Temple seven times
reciting Psalms 118. This is a minor Yom Kippur celebration
where the judgment of man, which began on Rosh Hashanah and
climaxes on Yom Kippur ends.
28. Wearing a scarlet doublet, Columbus went ashore on October 12,
1492 on San Salvador. The Americas were discovered.
29. October 13, 1492, the day after the discovery of the New World
would have been Shemini Atzeret, or the eighth day of
Convocation (Tishri 22). Traditionally, this is the day accepted as
the day Solomon dismissed the people from the Temple
celebration dedication celebration. (1 Kings 8:66). In Israel this
day is called Simchat Torah, or the rejoicing of the Torah. At this
time there is much celebration as the Torah scroll is rolled back
to the beginning of Genesis.
30. There is a tradition on 21 Tishri of baking bread with a hand on
top of it. The hand symbolizes God sealed His decision made for
that time. The hand is also said to represent the document or
verdict of that decision. (Isaiah 11:11-12

Biblical_Christian @ Tue Jun 05, 2007 9:14 am

31. It seems that on Hoshanah Rabbah God indeed made a decision
and set His hand to recover his people.
32. God was creating a NEW WORLD through Columbus on the very
day Jewish tradition was reading about His first creation of a
NEW WORLD in Genesis. What an incredible connection to our
Hebraic roots.
33. A Jewish man sailing west into the unknown to discover a new
land which in the end times become the world’s next to last
economic, military and political superpower.
34. MORE IMPORTANTLY America’s purpose was two fold:
a. TO spread the gospel and be a light to other nations
b. TO protect Israel and offer a safe haven for the Jewish people.
35. America is connected to Israel as an umbilical cord connects a
baby to its mother
Scripture References:
Isaiah 11:11
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand
again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be
left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and
from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the
sea.
Isaiah 11:12
And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the
outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four
corners of the earth.
1 Kings 8:66
On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king,
and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that
the Lord had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.
Summary of Dates:
March 30, 1492 – King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella signs decree to expel
Jews from Spain; Same day Cyrus, King of Persia was crowned, which
made it possible for the Jewish people under Ezra to rebuild Jerusalem for
the Holy Temple and the exiles to return.
April 30, 1492 – Edict read publicly one month after it is signed. Columbus
receives orders to sail and prepare for expedition.
1491-1492- Hebrew Year 5252 – Means “Har Nov” – “Mount of Fruit”
August 2, 1492 – Thousands of Jewish people depart from Spain to port of
Palos, where Columbus waits one day before embarking on journey. Same
day as the 9th of Av on Hebrew Calendar.
August 3, 1492 – Columbus receives communion and sets sail aboard his
flagship. Date is 10th of Av on Hebrew calendar – the very day both temples
are burned.
October 9, 1492 – Columbus and crew face mutiny on ship. Hebrew
calendar is 18 Tishri 5253 – the middle of the Feast of Tabernacles or
Sukkot which commemorates Israel’s wandering.
October 12, 1492 (2:00 A.M. on a Friday) – Rodrigo de Triana (possibly a
Jewish man) sights land which we now know as the Americas. Columbus
speaks Hebrew to crew when he is told of sighting.
October 12, 1492 – 71rst day of voyage – 21 Tishri on Hebrew Calendar –
Hoshanah Rabbah.
October 13, 1492 – 22 Tishri on Hebrew Calendar; Simchat Torah on
Hebrew calendar – when the Torah scroll is rolled back to the beginning of
Genesis.
Interesting Prayers and Writings of Columbus in Dairy:
“In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,” – first entry into dairy on August 3,
1492.
“Save now this nation, once firm as a rampart, and clear as the sun; she is
exiled, a wandering one.” – Jewish prayer for the Intermediate Days of
Sukkoth.
“As thou didst save together God and nation, the people singled out for
God’s salvation, so save thou us…they passed between the deep divided
sea and with them for their guide, the light from thee so save thou us!
Establish us as they chosen vineyard and make us as a tree planted by the
streams of water…plant us we pray upon a faithful sod.” – Portion of
prayers recited on Hoshanah Rabbah – the day Columbus goes ashore on
land of the New World

Columbus, Awesoooome.

sasquatch2 @ Tue Jun 05, 2007 9:39 am

This foolishness is based as much on fact as the current popular theology CO2 AGW.

Spain was not a fuge for Hebrews. Moorish Islamic Spain was. Following Ferdinand and Isabellas triumphant taking of Granada in 1492, Spain was a place where Jews were hunted and killed. The spanish Inquisition was more for exposing and killing conversos than finding heretics.

It is now known that columbus had visited Iceland prior to his "Voyage of Discovery", it can be safely assumed that he was familiar with the Sagas and was more than aware of North America.

In 1492, only the ignorant thought the world was flat. When Columbus returned and claimed to have reached Asia, he was laughed at because, not only the world was known to be round but they had a good idea how big it was and knew he simply had not been gone long enough.

INCONVENIENT TRUTHS.

The title pope, once used with far greater latitude (see below, section V), is at present employed solely to denote the Bishop of Rome, who, in virtue of his position as successor of St. Peter, is the chief pastor of the whole Church, the Vicar of Christ upon earth.

Besides the bishopric of the Roman Diocese, certain other dignities are held by the pope as well as the supreme and universal pastorate: he is Archbishop of the Roman Province, Primate of Italy and the adjacent islands, and sole Patriarch of the Western Church. The Church's doctrine as to the pope was authoritatively declared in the Vatican Council in the Constitution "Pastor Aeternus". The four chapters of that Constitution deal respectively with the office of Supreme Head conferred on St. Peter, the perpetuity of this office in the person of the Roman pontiff, the pope's jurisdiction over the faithful, and his supreme authority to define in all questions of faith and morals. This last point has been sufficiently discussed in the article INFALLIBILITY, and will be only incidentally touched on here.

Maybe you should learn something about the Catholic Faith before you criticise.

Maybe you should learn something about the Catholic Faith before you criticise.
I cannot shut-the-****-up, do you know why? Heres the reason. It is important to realize that most of the clergy and lay people that teach Roman Catholic doctrine are not deceiving people with malicious intent. They are simply passing on what has been passed on to them, sincerely believing that they have the truth. Catholics must believe all dogmas of their church or be anathema (eternally cursed).
Prayer, love, compassion, and understanding are needed along with the power of the Word of God to penetrate their hearts. Patience is needed to untangle Roman Catholics from the dogmatic web in which they are held captive.
(Colossians 2:8 KJV) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
IS ROMAN CATHOLICISM CHRISTIANITY?
We are often confronted with the following question and we have done extensive research to provide you with a fair and Biblical answer to the question. We realize when we deal with such topics there might be some who are offended by our views. As we near the return of Christ we are compelled to clearly and boldly point people to Jesus Christ and the Bible as the only way of salvation and spiritual truth.
There are 945 million Roman Catholics in the world. We are concerned about their souls.
THE SCRIPTURE TELLS US THAT IT IS A WISE PERSON WHO TRIES TO WIN THE SOUL OF HIS FELLOW MAN FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
(Proverbs 11:30 KJV) The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
We reflect on this Scriptures as we sincerely strive to approach the subject of Roman Catholicism. If Catholics are saved by following the teachings and practices of the Roman Catholic Church, we should leave them alone. If that is not the outcome, we have an obligation to witness to them for the sake of their eternal soul.
The concern for souls should be our only reason for studying the Roman Catholics; not to win arguments or debates, but to give us knowledge to help deliver them from deception.
We should always examine our attitudes and motives when we deal with this subject or any other to make sure that love for the soul dictates how we deal with those concerned.
(2 Timothy 2:23-26 KJV) But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. {24} And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, {25} In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; {26} And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
The subject of Roman Catholicism is a volatile subject and no matter how gently one deals with the issue, you are guaranteed to make a few people mad. The following statement made in 1917 accurately accesses the situation.
"I am aware that, if I undertake to prove that Romanism is not Christianity, I must expect to be called, 'bigoted, harsh, uncharitable.' Nevertheless I am not daunted; for I believe that on a right understanding of this subject depends the salvation of millions." (p. 288 THE FUNDAMENTALS Volume III, Reprinted 1993 by Baker Books.)
The speaker was T. W. Medhurst, of Glasgow, Scotland. It was a true statement in 1917 and also today. It came from an article entitled, IS ROMANISM CHRISTIANITY? that appeared in a four volume set of books called, THE FUNDAMENTALS, a series of articles by ministers that sought to address and defend the basic Christian truths that are the most precious to us.
At that time in history they saw the demonic floodgate of liberalism opened and were wise enough to know that the war for the truth of the gospel was happening. This work was headed up by R. A. Torrey and its purpose was to put into the hands of ministers and laymen the information they needed to defend the gospel.
These men felt the need to 'draw a line in the sand' on the issue of the Roman Catholics and let the world know that it was not Christianity. In their day the Roman Catholics were considered by some as another form of Christianity. Medhurst said:
One reason why Popery has of late gained so much power in Great Britain and Ireland, and is gaining power still, is that many Protestants look on it now as a form of true Christianity; and think that, on that account, notwithstanding tenderly. (p. .288, THE FUNDAMENTALS)
The problem that these men saw in 1917 has been compounded many times over through the years up to now. The shepherds of the flock of God have allowed Satan to kick the sands of confusion of the clear insight that these men shared with the body of Christ. More than ever before people today accept the Roman Catholics as another form of Christianity, and more than ever before people who claim that Catholicism is not Christianity are persecuted and ridiculed as hateful and divisive.
The Bible says that everyone who lives for Jesus will be persecuted.
(2 Timothy 3:12 KJV) Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
The Bible also says that this persecution will be a great blessing for us.
(Matthew 5:10-12 KJV) Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. {11} Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. {12} Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
WHY ARE SO FEW CHRISTIANS PERSECUTED IN AMERICA TODAY?
The answer is simple: they are not witnessing for Jesus and standing up for the truth of the gospel. We need to determine if the words of Medhurst are true. Does the salvation of millions of souls depend on us sharing the true gospel with our Roman Catholic friends? Was John Wesley correct when he taught that no Roman Catholic could be saved by believing what their church taught?
But I pity them much; having the same assurance, that Jesus is the Christ, and that no Romanist can expect to be saved, according to the terms of his covenant. (p. 220, Volume One, WESLEY'S WORKS, Baker Book House.)
We need to pay close attention to Paul's words to the church in Galatia.
(Galatians 1:6-9 KJV) I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: {7} Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. {8} But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. {9} As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
IN THE PASSAGE ABOVE PAUL PLACES THOSE WHO PREACH ANOTHER GOSPEL UNDER THE CURSE OF GOD.
He repeats this fact twice to give it special emphasis. We should think long and hard about what it means to be accursed by God. Some comments on this passage from scholars will be helpful. J. B. Lightfoot comments:
This word is used in the Old Testament of a person or thing set apart and devoted to destruction, because hateful to God. Hence in a spiritual application it denotes the state of one who is alienated from god by sin. (J. B. Lightfoot's Commentary on the Epistles of St. Paul, Hendrickson Publishers)
R. C. H. Lenski spoke about being accursed:
As the apostle and representative of Christ and the Father Paul pronounces the verdict; 'Let him be anathema!' He repeats the verdict of Jesus himself, uttered against the Pharisees in Matthew 23:13-39. Anyone who promulgates a different and contrary gospel is eo ipso "accursed", not because we say it so, but because Christ has said so, we only repeating his judgement. (p. 41 The Interpretation of Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, R. C. H. Lenski, Lutheran Book Concern)
THIS PASSAGE AND THESE COMMENTS MAKE IT CLEAR THAT TO PREACH ANOTHER GOSPEL IS TO BE TOTALLY CUT OFF FROM CHRIST AND TO BE SET APART FOR TOTAL DESTRUCTION BY GOD. WE NEED TO REALIZE HOW SERIOUS AND REAL THIS IS.
We now need to determine: Do the Roman Catholics preach a false gospel? The Bible says that the true gospel is salvation by grace through faith alone.
(Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: {9} Not of works, lest any man should boast.
IT IS ONLY NECESSARY TO READ TWO SENTENCES FROM THE NEW CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH TO DETERMINE THE TRUTH THAT THE ROMAN CATHOLICS TEACH A FALSE GOSPEL!
Justification is conferred in Baptism, the sacrament of faith. It conforms us to the righteousness of god, who makes us inwardly just by the power of his mercy. (p. 482, CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, The Liturgical Press.
When the Catholic Church teaches that justification is conferred in Baptism, they do so in direct opposition to the word of God, which teaches that we are justified by grace through faith alone.
(Titus 3:7 KJV) That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
(Romans 3:24 KJV) Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
(Romans 5:1 KJV) Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
(Romans 4:16 KJV) Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
The Bible clearly teaches that human words can play no part in our justification.
(Galatians 2:16 KJV) Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
(Romans 3:28 KJV) Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
(Romans 4:4-5 KJV) Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. {5} But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
The Catholic Church does teach the importance of faith for salvation, but they say that faith alone is not enough for justification. The Catholic position on justification could fairly be described as: Justification = Faith + Works
The Bible states plainly that if you are trying to be saved by 'faith plus works' the true gospel of justification by grace through faith alone is cancelled out and made void.
(Romans 11:6 KJV) And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
(Galatians 2:21 KJV) I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
(Galatians 3:10-11 KJV) For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. {11} But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
(Galatians 5:4 KJV) Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
Not only does the Catholic teaching proclaim salvation and justification by faith plus works but they also place those who teach salvation by grace through faith alone under the papal anathema. This word 'anathema' is the same word used in the Galatians 1:6-9 passage (previously quoted) in which the explanation of the word meant to be 'cut off' or 'accursed'. The Roman Catholic Church says because we teach justification by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone we are to be 'anathema'.
The Council of Trent made this clear:
If anyone says that the faith which justifies is nothing else but trust in the divine mercy, which pardons sin because of Christ; or that it is that trust alone by which we are justified: let him be anathema. (quote from Council of Trent, p. 47, THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ROME, Harvest House Publishers.)
FROM EVEN A VERY BRIEF STUDY OF THE ROMAN CATHOLICS WE ARE FORCED TO MAKE SOME SERIOUS CONCLUSIONS.
1. The Roman Catholics teach and preach a different gospel than the true gospel of justification by grace through faith alone.
2. This proves the Roman Catholic Church a false religion and not true Christianity.
3. This places the Roman Catholic Church under the curse of God according to Galatians 1:8-9, cuts them off from Christ and places them under the judgment of God.
4. If Christians take the great commission seriously they will prepare themselves by study and prayer to share the gospel with our Roman Catholic friends.
We hope this has informed you of some very important issues concerning the differences between the Roman Catholic Church and true Christianity.
