Think the next person performing indigenous art will face the same level of scrutiny? Her accolades snowballed and she blazed a trail no one else will be allowed. Good intentions gives her a mulligan for her trespassing and that is a bad precedent.

She doesn't get a Mulligan. Her fate should be decided by the people she wronged, for the wrongs she committed. I am not harmed by her, so I will not pass judgement.

I'm sanguine with hustle culture and faking it till you make it. Buffy was made into a cultural icon based upon her claim that she was legitimate. She may not have murdered your neighbor but she clearly violated a norm. A charlatan steals legitimacy from all of us.
