$1:
It states that if a Kahnawake Mohawk marries a non-Indigenous person, the Mohawk partner loses their membership rights. They can't vote or live on the reserve.

If the couple fails to follow the "Marry Out, Get Out" rule, they risk facing immense backlash from the community. There are currently five complaints before the Canadian Human Rights Commission and one case before the Superior Court of Quebec, challenging the constitutionality of these rules. But these are the high-level battles; others affected by "Marry Out, Get Out" try to fight against the rule in their private lives.

A little more egalitarian then when it was just the women who lost their status if they married non native. Funny, that if you are going to use ethnicity to determine residency, how many 'Mohawks' would lose out, seeing as there has been three centuries of close contact between Europeans and the Iroquois.

Kahnawake is a hemmed-in suburb of Montreal wiithout much land and nowhere to grow. They are probably worried about overcrowding as much as anything racist.

I think that they just want to protect their hertiage... It is very interesting, thanks for posting.

5 minutes ago you posted that ' we are all the same ', and now you post
that the Indians should be able to protect their 'heritage'.

Are you by chance a Lieberal ?

The Mohawks want to make inbreeding the norm...makes me wonder if some of them converted to Islam.
