It's a horrible and a sad state of affairs that we literally have Third World levels of corruption operating within Canada with so little being done about it due to fears of racism or whatever.

Do you think the issues in Quebec existed because of a fear of labels of racism?

Time won't pay your bills.

I pay my bills. But I could earn even more than I do yet I choose to balance work with personal time despite the fact that there's income I could be earning.

Wow. Doesn't everybody?

I take it you do not work for free tho. So your motivation to do the work is motivated by money, and not by time. Even the choice to not make as much as you could (love the passive aggressive bragging, btw) is a choice motivated by money and not by time.

Maybe discriminatory to hard working Sicilian Canadians running legitimate business in construction, restaurant ownership, and union management.

At least with Montreal and Laval's mayors, they're going to face justice, but I don't think anything will be done about this, even though I highly doubt it's legal. What's your opinion as to how the government of Manitoba, as well as the federal government will react and respond to this incident? Seemingly, just warning teachers to not go to the reserve for employment should be just the tip of the iceberg, no?

And though the First Nation is making the appropriate payroll deductions, the money is not being forwarded to the insurance companies or pension fund administrators, Olson added.

Sounds a lot like Slovakia in the bad old days.

Welcome to the Third World.

Outside of a few nations in NW Europe, where folk pretend it doesn't exist, it's just an openly accepted part of doing business. It's queue jumping.....look at countries where this is frowned on, and you'll find there is less obvious corruption

Welcome to the Third World.

I've lived and worked in places that make the 'Third World' look five star by comparison

Sorry to butt in but after reading that I couldn't help but respond.

Stand by for this story to quickly be hushed up because either the Federal Gov't or the Provincial Gov't will pony up taxpayers funds to pay out all the monies that were STOLEN and try and keep the issue quiet because of the huge implications for First Nations education.

And my guess is that nobody will ever be charged or even investigated for the same reasons.

Why is it MTS's fault [huh] ....read again. The union is warning teachers not to take a job there

My fault I ment the to say the Tribe/Distric or what ever it is called. Not the teachers union.

Wow people. Quick to judgements and executioners role. Wow. Those monies will get recovered by the govt and the band will lose that amount too. It's not as bad as that guy says. The article is good at 'gaslighting' tho and who fell for it?
