Hahaha Hurley :D :D
You missed this one before, didn't you? :)

Now, landfill...
Why isn't Canada building ovens to burn the burnable waste in? You can filter it so that almost clean smoke comes out of the chimney, you can recycle all plastics, metals and whatever more, and burn only the non-recyclable garbage... Landfills are a waste of space, and an environmental hazard.

Landfills are a good source for methane gas.

Reminds me of what our former premier said about them on live tv while visiting a cattle farm.

"Now if only we could get them all to fart at the same time"

We're getting the second one of these, built for free in The County of Red Deer. All we have to do is guarantee the amount of garbage it needs to run it. This is going to double the dumping fees we currently pay and I have a feeling that's going to be problem in the future.

More money, more money, more money please.

Well, you can't just dump the waste and leave it there. You will pay to clean that up too. If you don't want to pay, live green and make sure you recycle your own garbage...
This pretty hightech though, I like it.

They have one of those ovens in London but they shut it down. People started complaining about the smoke.

I drive by the landfill on the way to and from work. Just gotta remember to turn the fans off in my car so I don't have to smell it.

I am just northwest of the 401 and unfortunately there is no escaping the smell....wish I could just drive by it....I have read about aeration of the 'wells' and the double burning techniques but as to why they are not showing the same level of responsibility towards homeowners/residents is a mystery to me. Probably because it is a private landfill....I wonder if they are as compliant to the laws as they should be...Any investigators out there reading this? I would be interested in knowing if they are doing all they can or should be doing for this problem.

I really don't understand why we don't build waste to energy incinerators. Sure it'll be stinky and NIMBY buildings, but hell, we can put them in Hamilton and never, ever realize there's a difference. Sarnia too.

WOAH WOAH WOAH.

NO.

NONONONO.

Got something against Thunder Bay? :x

Send the garbage to New York and throw it aroung the streets. They'll never notice.

I've got a news flash for you. I was in New York city and Toronto within days of each other and the dirtiest streets weren't located in the US. 8O New York was positively spotless compared to good old TO. PDT_Armataz_01_32

hey, at least we are keeping it in Canada right? Anyone think Canada should have a launch pad for rockets to send our shit in to space? The only problem is fume pollution. Otherwise, brilliant!
