Sure vanstone can be annoying sometimes, but most of the stuff he wirtes is accurate. And if you knew him, you would know that he's not a bad guy.

Yeah I always read Vanstones articles. When he is telling information and rumours, he's usually all right. But once he gets into his opinion on why the Riders are losing or something, it just get hilarious.

The way your taking Alexander_Keith you have me wondering if you arent Rob Vanstone.

I am actually thinking that instead of separation, the movement should be annexation. We'll annex everything but Ontario into Saskatchewan. With the 100 or so threads about the US annexing Canada I figured there MUST be something to this annexation deal.

Saskatchewan leaving Canada?!? Hmmmmm.... not such a bad idea, it would cut out alot of that long boring drive from Winnipeg to Calgary

   

Your location is Taiwan. You have a 12 hour flight to get to Canada. What is your concern with the drive between Calgary and Winnipeg. Besides only lame people drive east of the Sask/Man border.

what would possibly happen to the town of llyodminster then.. Half Alberta.. half in another country... nope never work.....right there you can't have your soverenty... so the 20-30 people left ion saskatchewan at the end on the week will have to stay... sorry...

   

It would be very bad if Saskatchewan was to seperate. Both parties would have a negative effect economically. Canada is and always will be and no province or territory should seperate.

   

provinces should be allowed to do what they want, but if they want to separate, they should have to make sure that 75% of the people in the province want to separate, then put it up to a national vote, if that gets a 60% yes vote for the sepatration, then yes, let the place leave.

   

Well for starters, I fly home a few times a year and drive from Vancouver to Winnipeg. I already have 12 hrs of nothing to see while flying, so if I can cut out 6 more hours of nothing to see while driving, that makes it nicer. It removes one more dateline too. I gain a day crossing the international dateline over the Pacific and gain 20 years when I cross the Saskatchewan border into Manitoba .

   

Okay, independent Saskatchewan.

But what will the government be?

a) parliamentary.
b) republic.
c) kingdom.
d) people's democratic republic.
e) empire.
f) principality.

????

Hmmmm... independant Saskatchewan...

   

They'd have an economy based on wheat, fermentation, and excessively high toll charges on Route 1.

Without Saskatchewan, you'd all be at a loss for oil company execs. Also, your general population would decline if Sask "out migration" stopped. The cost of bread and beer would sky rocket, and you'd all wander around in dazed confusion when you couldn't get perogies or cabbage rolls at wedding suppers. Manitoba couldn't be the pot calling the kettle black anymore. Face it - you *need* us. I demand that Sask. get special powers and extra funding for our "distinct society" that is unique and critical to Canadian culture.
