That's terrible; you should certainly report this to her supervisor. I hope you got her name so that she can be properly reprimanded or fired.
This doesn't really surprise me. The PQ propaganda machine has been churning their bile for years now. I'll bet she actually believed what she was saying.

Sad.

I bet you believe what YOU say Dr.C and god/dog forbid YOU have never never been influenced by any federalist propaganda.

I don't know why anyone would be surprised by this person's concept of Canada's two nations. To put the blame on the PQ is just as ridiculous, a quick jump to conclusion and not based in fact. This person may be a Québec Liberal or an Adéquiste for all we know.
What is true though is that 30 % of Québécers openly admit they have never considered themselves Canadians in the first place or thought of Canada as their nation.
So what will you do Canada ? Fire a third of Québec's workforce ? Or as DrC.'s fine line of thought would indicate...kill them but be polite about it ?

As such, they are required to represent CANADA in an official capacity. Regardless of personal beliefs, they should represent Canada while at work. They can tell people anything they like after 5pm, but to let their personal opinions influence their work like that is completely unacceptable. Canada does not need employees who do not believe in Canada; if it required firing a third of the workforce for not doing their jobs, then so be it. There are plenty of Canadian nationalists who need jobs and who would be proud to present their country(Canada) to new immigrants.

However, this brings up the question of why said employee was talking about Canada at all, if they are not employed there? I would still consider it unprofessional for a Canadian immigration employee to badmouth Britain or France because of their personal views.
A public servant's job, whether federal or provincial, is to admninister law and government policy and represent the government (employer) in the performance of their duties. Their are clear standards of professional conduct for public and civil servants (and plenty of lapses from the same.).

If an individual doesn't believe they've been treated professionally and/or received accurate information from a public or civil servant, they have the right to file a complaint.

In my opinion, that's about all that needs to be said.
In my opinion, that's about all that needs to be said.
I agree. Case closed.

The problem is, as immigrants these people are in no position to know whether they are being fed horse*&^% or not. Canada has as little difficulty is supporting culture as Quebec does, and neither goes too far in such support.

There is no doubt that Quebec's university is more affordable. My interest there would be to know if that is true that Quebecers are charged more-that would be interesting. Likewise, if canadians are charged more for going to school there.

If immigrants are being lied to at an immigration office then that is definitely a cause for concern as it is a human rights issue. If they are being lied to about those things, then what about others?
The way I see this, partisan politics should not play a role in immigration. What this woman said crossed a line, and would be equivalent to an immigration officer saying in another part of Canada, "The Liberals will make you perform same-sex marriages, so vote Conservative". There's nothing wrong with pointing out the differences between Quebec and other parts of Canada, and explaining both sides of the sovereignty debate in an unbiased manner, but what this woman said was nothing more than a series of lies and exaggerations.

I find it amusing that this woman singled out Ontario; it's not like were in a competition to see who can get the most immigrants (although Ontario would be winning ...and with less federal money per immigrant too). As for f*cking Ontario...we don't need your help; we're perfectly capable of doing it ourselves...Charest might be out of touch with the people, but we elected Mike Harris twice! We definately do not need your help screwing ourselves over.
