Most people know that the US is now requiring many foreign visitors to have their fingerprints taken at the border. But I have a little news from Latin America.
As a kind of big fuck-u to the US, Brasil is now requiring that all US citizens entering Brasil be fingerprinted.
You gotta love the Latinos. Such irony.
Brazil has going after the US for a while now. So has Venezuela and a couple other places in Latin America. As far as I know Brazil is first with the fingerprinting though.
An American pilot got himself into trouble down there recently. When they went to photograph him he gave the finger to the camera. Disrespect for authority is a crime there. He was charged, fined and released.
Awesome!! Stick it to them. So they are going to treat anyone who isnt american as if they are guilty of something. How is this different from any other time? Just now they are "Booking" everyone while they suspect them. Its kinda good cause if someone does break the law and leave fingerprints then they have a database to compare to instead of just the people who have commited a crime.
"fined"???
Fuckin-A, he was fined.... $13,000 ! ! !
The airline paid it for him - wonder how he's gonna tell the wife he's fired?
$13,000 US is a bargain compared to spending time in a South American prison, Nonrev.
I don't care how he tells his wife. He was treated with far more respect than travellers to the US who have run into trouble with their customs people. He didn't get sent to Syria to be tortured for a year, for instance.
