Well my b-day was on sunday, just another b-day to me, but it all
went oh so bad, courtosy of nature & my body
Wendsday moring for me was waking to a pain normally associated with being plugged up, not cool, but not very unmanagable, tried to pass it, but to no avail, such is life
well I went back to sleep, woke up and went to work at about 9:30, still feeling bad, if not a bit worse, I thought, get a bite to eat, let the pluming do its job, and it did, but MR. matt still felt the same, well, F it im going home, took pain killers and laid face down, which sucked worse, errrr
well realizing this may be a suspect case of apendicitis, of to the walk in clinic to geta professional opion, DR said, it stomach flu, or early apendicitis

Well, flu, could be the pain was just general pain in the abdomen, went home, relaxed for 1/2 hour, wans't feeling good at all

Well time to call DR. mom, who is a RN, told me to go to emergency, get a test for white blood cell count,

Of to the ER, JOY

sign in, to ER, notice nurse mark me urgent(in hind sight very nice, went around alot of people)

go to room, and by now this pain is localizing to the lower right quadrent of my belly, and is starting to smart quite a bit

3 doctors come by in the next 5 hours, while im hurting more and more, and come to a conscences that my apendix it to blame.During this wait I was given My first IV(2 attempts), ever, and all I got to say IS, It was a NICE distraction from my belly, NOT KIDDING, sort of cool actually

well after the last doctor was done poking my belly(not nice, but necessary)
I met my NEW best friend with doctors approval, A very nice nurse with a goddly elixer call Demerol ( at 5 pm), That stuff kicks sooo much ass

Well finaly Im off the th OR at 10PM, for my first opperation, was very anxious about this(not after demerol though), Well my advise, nothing to worry about, sort of neat, their all like"are your arms tinggling, you'll go so sleep soon", Im thinking"im not sleepy?", next thing im waking up in another room, groggy as hell, im less pain, but with a sore throat(tube was down it)

back to my room to stay the next day and a half, where I met a very nice lady who is my second best friend, she had demerol mixed with gravol,
very nice stuff


well now I sit at home, feeling pretty sore, but better
have to say, not a nice gift from the bag'o'bones i use to transport my dome, but hey it happens

just had to let somebody know, keeps mind off tummy

Gee, all I did for my birthday was drink beer and eat steak.

   

Must have been nice, I would drink beer now, but then meds would probally react to it

Actually, beer and Demerol compliment each other rather nicely. If you mix some bennies in you can even speak well enough to alert others about your nosebleed so they can give you a roll of paper towels.

Dont listen to him Madman; for two reasons:

1) I'm sure, after any surgery, you are on antibiotics. MANY antibiotics are made ineffective by alcohol - I dont know why, but they are. If you want to have alcohol with antibiotics, you have to ask for special ones - and I'm betting you didnt.
2) BEER would be the last thing you want if you had your appendix out. Beer, as we all know, is gassy - and seeing as your appendix is just off the lower-right corner of your large intestine, I doubt you want all that "fizz" going by a fresh incision in the wall of your intestine. Eeeeessssh!


Rev, you're a helluva guy at times, but you have to admit, based on your own history - you and the medical field should be kept in separate well-sealed environments, far away from each other....

   

actually I have no antibiotics now, just when I was on IV
now just T2, and T3(my mother who is helping me is RN and Brought her stash of T3's)

and Codine is a narcotic, not to be used with alcohol

just as you said, my roomate said he would have doctor pepper waiting for me(luv the stuff), but I said NO WAY, the gas would suck

feeling much better today, slept like a log last night, ab muscle feels much better(for having stiches in it)

I wasn't taking REV literally, hes kidding, but I cant laugh at it, that sucks

When I first got food in the hostpitle, just after I had 1 hicup, just one but For a few seconds I was cursing nature for being very crule, if they continued, oh man....

   

Just curious - What was your total bill for surgery and everything else ?
