Anyone had this situation? My wife comes home from work, grabs the remote to put her soap on, which our PVR records every damn day! grabs the laptop from whomever is using it and goes on Facebook. Now we cannot have a conversation because her "show" is on and once that is over she is busy on friggin' Farmville or Frontierville or some other B.S. Our relationship is suffering because she loves that stupid thing over me.

Getting a divorce is coming soon!

 Uh yeah... 'cept it's CKA instead of Farmville and Discovery Channel and OLN.

Maybe I better put away CKA...

I know what you mean brother, having personal experience of a mother who almost condemned her less than a year old baby to death because of FB and farmville.

Wifey is a bit of FB an addict too and online Pac Man ! But usually on the weekends only. She has a stressfull job : Finiacial Accountant. So I let her unwind on the weekends with those getaways. Currently were in bit of a finacial squeeze so really can afford to go out much at all, so it kinda works as a virtual pacificer on the week ends. But we do talk have fun, mess about the house etc etc. So its not 100% of the time glued to Laptop. But it does gets a bit much sometimes.

At the end of the day I really don't get face book at all and think its just a huge waste of time.

Man, do something with the internet, take her for a two weeks camping (Canada is large country so the internet is not everywhere),buy flowers, candles a good "love night" will make her to forgot about facebook, if she stucked in PC (that's strange for women) maybe she has there something thet you are not giving to her, find what it is.

you're in a beautiful part of BC, take up skiing and snowmobiling or get yourself and your girls involved in Guides and 4-H.

I can see a support group of widows of Facebook starting up very soon. Wife got up this morning and first thing she grabbed was the damn computer. I am to the point of giving up!

Well I'm sure it can't be as bad as getting a Divorce though. Maybe talk to her and explain to her how you feel and what this could eventually lead to !

I know although wifey is a bit of a FB addict but she would never choose that over me.

But like I said I can understand. I have know a mother almost killed her child over farmville. dunno what is so appealing about FB to women ?

I don't any sane person will choose a spouse/friend/partner/child over some crap like FB. I think you just need to get your feelings across, maybe she has no clue about how you feel ?

Back in the old days... I had a similar problem with my first wife and the television-soaps. She was a 'stay at home'. Problem was, SFA was getting done!
One morning, as I was just about to head out the door to work, I walked over to the television, yanked the cord right off it, put it in my pocket, and said in a very calm voice, " If SFA is still done when I get home, you can take this fucking tv with you when you move out tonight"! Point made!

Why dont you admit the problem---you blame facebook, but what about the assault chgs. Why don't you admit the marriage was over long before facebook and the problem was looking back at you in the mirror!!!

Actually and to tell the truth I had a similar problem with the wife. She would come home from her job as a teacher and put the TV on. That was that. There was no conversation and it was troubling to me. So I eventually talked to her about it and she said if I wanted to talk about something I could interrupt the TV, she doesn't really watch it closely. So that's what I do, and that fixed that standoff. She is a good listener and we stay in touch with what's happen daily with a minimum of conversation. My wife is a dedicated teacher and she works on course work all weekend. My job as husband is to give her room. That's what she wants. There just isn't the time to have all the play I would like. Of course irony is everything and my wife is a chatty kathy - with her friends. At home she does not want to talk about how her day at work was and that. I understand the problem of no conversation and I fixed my problem with a discussion of the issue.
