[quote]I have a question. If one has a sex change and marries for want of a better word .Would that be construed as a legal hetero marriage or gay marriage.

hey, i got another one...
what if someone got a sex change to be niether gender (or both?) could it be a gay "union" one week and a hetero one the next? :?: :D

anyway, (on a more serious note) i strongly oppose anything gay at all. gotta love being a red-blooded albertan.

Indelible did I work you too hard today? I think if one has a sex change and is a proper woman so to speak and gets married it would be hetetro marriage because lets face the transgendered do feel that they were born in the wrong body.So I think that there should be no problem.
Man my friend are you gonna get blasted tomorow hehehe. Indelible I to am a born and bred Albertan and it pisses me off to think others would be so narrow minded. I am straight as an arrow and have absolutley no fear of gays , bi males or females they are just like you and I my friend except something happened maybe at birth to have them interested in the same sex.
However I do appose the word "marriage" in a same sex union.

work too hard?nah! it was just fuckin cold out!
anyway, i was being fecetious about the sex change thing. if someone is neither male or female i was joking that they could be gay one day and hetero the next...i hope someone got that joke before i explained it!
i don't believe in the gay from birth theory, i have seen no proof. as far as i'm concerned, every one chooses to be gay or straight.

blubs @ Mon Dec 08, 2003 8:27 pm

I kinda disagree with you about choosing to be gay or not. I do think somewhere along the way in early childhood something took over in some part of their brain. I cant see a person choosing to be gay. I mean a gay would look at a Mel Gibson type and say whoa I want him. Us straights will look at Gbsons and say damn I wish I had the women he did.
Anyways something happened some where in their make up.

Indelible @ Mon Dec 08, 2003 8:34 pm

but scientifically what made that happen? what happened in the childs brain? was it because of outside influences so that the child doesn't know better, like a monkey see monkey do thing that all children do? that's also partly why i am so anti-gay. children are easily influenced and anything that an adult says and does (parent or just someone else, regardless) impacts the child more than we realize, so i think we need to be really careful and maybe not be so accepting of everything because it's a constitutional right.

Perhaps you'd like to give us your thoughts on Dick Cheney's daughter, then?

Not exactly raised in a household of flaming anarchists....

Rev_Blair @ Tue Dec 09, 2003 1:38 pm

Or my brother...how the hell did my family end up with an Alliance supporter in it's midst?

Do you seriously think, Indelible, that anybody chooses to be something as unaccepted by society as a gay person...that they choose to be discriminated against, ridiculed and sometimes beaten to death? Can you seriously dismiss scientific evidence of homsexual behaviour in animals, including complex mating behaviour by penguins? Do you think penguins make conscious decisions about anything?

We do't why it happens, but homosexuality is not a choice. It is just the way things are. And why the hell do we expect homosexuals to accept hetrosexual behaviour? Considering the really brutal track record of our species, should we not be encouraging any union that does not result in more of us sullying this planet?

... completely with you Rev. I know quite a few homosexual men, And all are the nicest people you would ever hope to meet. Not only that, but based on appearence, interests and personality, you would not know they're gay. Hell, I share many of the same interests as them, does that mean I'm gay? No. I mean, gays and lesbians are just like other people, not like Hollywood and Society protrays them to be so. Just because they go home tonight and it just say happens that they say, "Hello honey" to someone of the same sex does not mean they are heretics, or terrorists, or scum/vermin. It just means they have a different outlook on life, and a different way of precieving things.

And about animals being homosexual, I think my dog is a homo, or just really horney, hes humps anything he can get his front paws around :D

Indelible @ Tue Dec 09, 2003 7:09 pm

just because animals do not have the ability to choose does not mean that people are the same way. granted, they do behave like animals from time to time (sometimes quite often) and i DO NOT approve of brutalizing homosexuals or any people, because they are still people, but that doesn't make them right.
is it at all possible that someone chooses that path of life (descrimination etc from rev's post) in rebellion? or maybe makes that choice because they are misguided or ignorant... there are a million and one reasons why someone would choose to be gay, despite all the negative aspects.
i also have no idea what you are talking about reagarding cheney's daughter. you will have to tell me about it in a PM or something.
i also never said they weren't nice people. they are nice people! i never said they dont have same interests as straight pepole either. i really hope ne one else decides to put words in my mouth.

blubs @ Tue Dec 09, 2003 8:07 pm

Indelible no one chooses to be gay. What you are saying is one a person wakes and makes the choice of being gay. One cant just say hey screw the straight life I want to be gay. No my friend I honestly believe it has some thing to do inside the brain. It has been proven that the transgendered brain is different than that of normal brains. Everyone has different reasons not to like gays etc. You would make a hell of a good member of the Alliance slash consevative party. I think people who go on about gays are unsure of their own sexuality.

Indelible @ Tue Dec 09, 2003 8:12 pm

that's a cruel thing to say, blubs!!
i am DEFINITELY sure about my sexuality and i am DEFINITELY NOT GAY!

as for politics, i don't really care for any particular party and i probly wouldn't support a party because of it's stand on gayness, i just want the right thing

man's body was designed for women, not to be inside another man, that's just the way nature intended it. same for women.

on a lighter note, i am reminded of a quote "silly faggot, dicks are for chicks!"

Rev_Blair @ Tue Dec 09, 2003 8:29 pm

Are you saying that you've never looked at a picture of two girls going at it and said, "Hey, I'd like to be in the middle of that," Indelible?

nonrev @ Tue Dec 09, 2003 9:29 pm

No fear of that, indelible; theres no room in there with your foot so firmly lodged in it.
I had hoped I was asking the question of someone that keeps up on world events, but perhaps not.

Dick Cheney, an obviously VERY conservative person, has a daughter who is a lesbian. So much for your "learned behaviour" silliness....

Idelible I was not refering to you personaly. All I was saying was there are a lot of men out there who are afraid of gays beacause they may have hidden gay tendencies and have to over ride it by being gay bashers. Along time ago when I was in Edmonton I was having a steak and a beer in a cafe I frequented. A gay hit on me and all I told him was I was sorry I had go home and curl my hair. I had very long hair back then.
Indelible what is the right thing? Your sense of right may not be the other persons sense of right. I love Alberta that was why I moved back I missed it. One thing that has not changed in this province is its red neck attitude towards something they dont understand. And I feel that is the crux of the matter people are too damned narrow minded to see the others point of view. I must admit I too am a tad narrow minded in some things. We gotta overcome that attitude and try to get along with people of different races and creeds.
