Today Oprah promised to pay $100,000 to anyone who was instrumental in the arrest of a known child molester on the FBI's most wanted list. She is really wound up about this issue.

What is your suggestion for punishing men (they were all men on her list)
who molest children over and over again? Most of these men also murdered one or more people.

I'd like to see these men neutered like dogs on the first conviction. But, then I guess I'm a little radical. Forget therapy - we all know that does not work. Any other ideas?

I suppose one's first inclination is to say, "destroy them"!.

A slightly more humane idea would be to put them in jail for the rest of their lives and during their infinite stays, a daily swift kick to the pills.

there's lots that refuse any sort of treatment(not that it works) and still get released, even when they're deemed a high risk to reoffend. if you catch the fuck in the act, " i'm sorry officer he attacked me so i was forced to defend myself and the child." oh, and yes i am advocating that you kill them. if the courts and lawmakers refuse to protect the most innocent members of society, then it's up to vigilant members of society to protect them.

I'm against neutering for the same reason I'm against capital punishment. Wrongfull convictions... can't exactly sew the giggleberries back on, can we?

Like that guy that was convicted and did a lot of jailtime for the rape and murder of a child. A rape and murder that never happened. That was in Canada, but I'm fuzzy on the details.

But lock 'em up for life, where they can't be a threat. Then, god forbid, if there is a wrongfull conviction, at least you can let him back out in one piece!

Well O'Reilly has been going after the govenors of the states to promise to enact Jessica's law. 25 years, first offence mandatory, no wiggle room for the Liberal judges and the ACLU.

Although many child molesters were victims of molestation themselves, I lean more towards capital punishment, myself. I'd be afraid that if you whack it off, you're either going to make them more violent or they will just find other methods of getting their perverted "thrills". To protect children, we either have to lock up these animals forever or . . .

For a troop-hating blowhard, that's not a bad idea.

I think is kids can be convinced to report these crimes as soon as they happen, DNA tests could prove a person guilty very quickly. When this is the case, I don't see any reason for these people being allowed to live.

Now I'm a firm beliver that criminals can be reformed......HOWEVER I don't consider these sick fucks criminals...anyone who would do such a thing to a child(beyond doubt) deserves to have they're tender bits lopped off.....with a very blunt and rusty spoon.

DNA evidence can be just as problematic as all other kinds of evidence. Unless semen is found, other sources of DNA might only prove that a person was in the same room etc....There's no easy answer or quick fix...

I'd be all for capital punishment for these guys, if it weren't for the fact that every 2-3 months I see on the news how some wrongfully convicted murderer has been exonerated.....

What we need is more money going into police units that investigate child pornography, and more money into the development of computer analysis tools.

It also is definately a disgrace that our sex-crime laws are so lenient. I think sexual assault and child-sexual assault/exploitation should have penalties up there with murder, none of this two year jail nonsene for posession of kiddie porn....disgrace...

Hey, Shepherd's Dog,
Who would you nominate as the executioner with the baseball bat?

How about making these pervs the prison whores? Tattoo a big red O on
their foreheads. That ought to make their remaining life a living hell.

Any adult victim of sexual abuse, or parent, who isn't one themself and would be willing to take a few swings in the batting cage.

ooh the things I would do to those bastards if i could get my hands on them

Robair @ Tue Oct 04, 2005 7:35 pm

Guy Paul Morin. Half of you tough guys would have casturated him, the other half would have beat him to death with a baseball bat. All of you would have found out 10 years later that he was innocent.

Go hang your heads in shame. GO!
