I don't 'paypal', so any email from them I know is a fraud. Same with banks. They don't have my email.

But the dead givaway for me on that Bren? (e.g. Internet Explorer or Netscape)

That browser has been dead since 2006. "we regularly screen activity " my ass.

Paypal is something of a necessary evil-the Good News is that scams like this are easy to spot.

ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL
I didn't even see that!

I just figured that since it was sent to an email addy that is not even close to linked to PayPal (or bank for that matter... ) it was a scam :P

Other than that, the CC I had linked to it has been expired for over a year, so no matter who wanted to try, they wouldn't be able to charge my account

The dead giveaway to me is the links to those scam spams, https.

On the left bottom of your browser screen is the address a link goes to (the target). The dead giveaway is when there are extra characters on the target http://service.paypal.com.cz etc.
Unfortunately most people have disabled or never noticed that function even though they may have 22 other stupid toolbars crowding out their screen. Like the 90% of people who never in their entire computing lives ave clicked File, Edit, View, etc. to see WTF they do. So fucking many they hid that menu so tools could add yet another third party toolbar.
PayPal is a handy and secure service, difficult to function without it.
BTW the https:// is there because people know it has something to do with security so it will suck in even more fools.

Another give away was the "we recently contacted you". Ah, no, you didn't.
