We all know that Todd Bertuzzi made a big mistake when he sucker punched Moore last week, and for that he is remorseful. But the NHL is using Mr. Bertuzzi as a scapegoat, and falling to media sensationalism in its unjust suspension of Todd. Because of this I have started an online petition to stand up for Todd. Please any fan of hockey should sign this....you never know it might be your star player thats used as the martyr one day.

You must be kidding. He should never be aloud to play hockey agian

He got off EASY. Why don't you start a petition to support the guy whose neck he broke? This is quite possibly the most MORONIC thread I've seen on this site. DUMBASS!!!!!!!!!!!
Whos the dumbass here......MOORES NECK IS NOT BROKEN!
There is a very big difference between 2 fractures and a broken neck!! You are obviously just a media moron who only reads what he wants to read!! Before you start spewing off at the mouth about something....KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.
While I do hope that Steve Moore makes a full and complete recovery, I think when hes back playing he will think better of going after one of the top players in the league!! I am sorry to say that but the young rookies coming into the NHL have no respect anymore. #99 NEVER once had a concussion...as the other players had enough respect to know not to touch him...and if they did there was going to be a asskicking for it, so now why is it that almost all of the top players have had at least one concussion? Hummm?
Oh and before you start ranting about the neck issue..there is a difference my friend broke his neck and was in a HALO for 6 mounths and it took another 6 months of physio. With the fractures he should be well and healed within 6 months!!
ah buddy, gary sutter hit 99 from behind in 1991 canada cup finals
berts hit was unacceptable(btw im a big nucks fan), i think there's no need for any suspension in next season, but it was fair, that was a low blow and bert rode him into the ice, if c4-c5 are cracked wtf is it, its a broken neck, not a serious fracture, but its still a break
Any injury involving the neck or spine has the potental to cause lasting harm.
Hey,
Just wanted to post my support for Todd Bertuzzi like the original poster said. I think that hockey is a violent sport and many of the players sustain injuries, this shouldn't be different. I agree that is was a cheap hit, but I've seen them before and I'm sure Todd didn't mean to hurt Moore like that. It could have happened to any player. You hit someone, you risk injuring them, that's the way it works!
I hope they let him play again soon, he's awesome!
You know what makes me sick. There is louder and more vocal support of of Burtuzzi then there is for Moore! People call themself hockey fans and then support burtuzzi are not hockey fans but fans of cheap violence.
I think what I have the biggest problem with is that when Bukaboom's career was ended, the guy only got a 12 game suspension. Thats what really makes me mad, why at that point was there NO steps taken, why because it was not a big issue in the media, thats why. I actually got a copy of the tape from the punch, and if you watch it in slow motion you can actually see Bertuzzi tripping over a stick (his or Moore's you can not tell which) and them both falling to the ice. I PRAY the canucks appeal. These people need to better watch the replays and watch in slow motion as its pretty clear to see it in this tape and angle. There has always been violence in hockey, thats clear and as a Vancouver fan I will openly admit that I wanted to see them get some payback on Moore, and now seeing what has happened, I do feel bad, I am so glad Moore is going to recover, so I accept responsibilitie for wanting to see some payback, it was really tragic that Steve and his family are having to endure this. But you know it was not the first incident for him, but I am sure it will be his last. If you want to do away with any type of fighting them there ARE a whole lot of players that need to be kicked out of the leaugue....Domi, Brashier and many others...they are paid ENFORCERS and every player knows if you go after one of there top players there will be a price to pay....off of your ass!! Thats the way its always been. So why change now? If someone does not like it....dont watch. Its simple its always been this way so what if its not PC its HOCKEY. Bert is not the first and I am sure he will not be the last!!
Oh and by the way I am actually Jays girlfriend, not Jay so I will be signing up for my own account as he does not like getting all the emails about this!!
How many threads we got going about BOOTUZI here??? LOL
moore's f'n neck IS NOT BROKEN!!! vancouver hospital wanted to release him 1,5 days after the incident! i hate the way the media and colorado officials try to make a big thing of it - which it really isn't!
the action of bert wasn't okay, but ESPN, FOX, ABC and the whole stupid avs staff are completely crazy! you see such things the whole season and in 99% there isn't any serious injury. this is so sick! i'm getting really pissed to see this incident compared with the mcsorley thing! this is completely different...
the nhl (and especially campbell and bettman) sucks. it is not right to make a scapegoat out of bert. i can't believe the whole story and the way everyone handles it. IF I LOST RESPECT FOR ANYONE ... THAN IT IS FOR THE COLORADO AVS ORGANIZATION.
hope the nhl someday will get rid of this stupid instigator rule which is responsible for such situations.
People seem to be forgetting that the bones of the neck and spine are bones, just like all others in the human body. The potential for lasting harm comes in when and if those broken bones damage the spinal cord, WHICH THEY DID NOT OIN THIS CASE. While Moore may not have deserved a sucker punch, he definitely deserved payback for what he did to Naslund. If you're afraid of injuries, then don't play pro hockey. It's as simple as that.
While I feel Todd deserves some form of suspension for this, he does not deserve the treatment he is getting. It has been clear for some time now that quite a few refs are biased against the Canucks; why is this bias being permitted to make a scapegoat out of a good team player? It's rubbish. At least Moore will be out for quite some time; nature's way of correcting the mistakes made by the refs when he concussed Naslund.
