I was at my sister's place a couple of days ago and saw the 'school picture' one. I thought it was great.
Some of the car commercials are good. The Zoom-Zoom commercials are a good car people adds, as are the Dodge commercials for the Magnum racing the BMW. My favorites are the Mcdonalds adds that talk about healthy food......McDonalds and healthy, talk about a contradiction. Tell that to that Prof who died eating nothing but McDonalds food.
They tell me that KFC stands for Kitchen Fresh Chicken, not Kentucky Fried chicken now.
Those McDonalds commercials for their sandwhiches are brutal. The whole sandwhich board guys and the different stories (like the story of the guy who got promoted). So annoying, and the products don't even look that good...
I just remembered another awful McCain's ad-the one with the guy singing opera to his grandma. Mildly annoying the first time you see it, but after 937 viewings it gets pretty tired...
The worst commercials (in my opinion are) ..
McDonalds.. WE KNOW WHO THEY ARE! threes McDonalds everywhere , we don’t need to be reminded they exists every commercial break!
Tim Horton’s.. hey look, Tim Horton’s is selling some dough like substance in the shape of a muffin..what is it this month? lemon? strawberry? all i know it is NOT baked fresh!
Canadian tire... i think its pretty well obvious that freak with the goatee and his wife either work FOR or ROBBED a Canadian tire..all they do is push the products like drugs.. What’s that? your trapped under a car bleeding to death? you should have used Motomaster amazo-gip tires..they have ridges.. ONLY AT CANADIAN TIRE!!
Not to mention the recent wave of Kit kat commercials containing 2 very stupid individuals talking about taking breaks..
some say by being annoying they work, because you remember them , because you talk about them..etc.. but i don’t believe that true..
i mean if i said how my (for example) Honda broke down cause its a piece of JUNK... or how my windows xp freezes all the time on me... would you buy it? just because i talked about it? you may recall em mentioning it..but it was all bad things.
There’s a good chance that if they have to try to annoy you into buying it..the product cant be that good.
Many commercials today are just plain annoying.. my finger is always on the mute button..
the sad part is i don’t watch a lot of tv.. a couple hours a day..but they repeat the same commercials every break , sometimes twice , its horrible.
I personally haven’t eaten at a Tim Horton’s or a McDonalds in ages.. not JUST because of the commercials but because of the terrible food and service.
I'm sure if we stopped buying the products from these people it wouldn’t do much.. you think McDonalds would notice if a couple thousand people stopped eating there? lol...so we just have to endure it
And that’s my rant for today lol
there is one commercial that i hate more than anything else out there. i was watching this show cheaters at like 12:30 am, the show is about catching people who cheat on their loved ones (the TV was left on and i had fallen asleep after the Simpsons). the commertial is for a dating service for people that are in relationships and want something else on the side. i can't beleive that there are even enough people to justify such a service
i also hate any commercial that has nothing at all to do with the product that is being sold, unless it is funny
You know the "school picture" ad isn't all that bad, it's even pretty cute the first couple of times you see it. By McCain's standards it's actually excellent (which isn't saying much). But the real problem with McCain's ads is the sheer, bludgeon-like repetition of their ads. This, combined with the overwhelming mediocrity of the ads is what is so maddening...
Their jingles almost invariably suck, too...
Hey there out there! Youse broads! Want a little on the side? No strings. Call me. I need something that won't cut into my creative time or sleep.
Want a nooner?
Call me sooner.
No, not you Rose.
I like the Tim Hortons commercials. I don't however like how they now ship in frozen doughnuts/muffins/etc and not just warm them up. They used to actually make them on site, and if you were nice, you could get the guy to make you a special Boston Creme with like 3 times the filling.
No matter how much McDonalds puts commercials on now, I still have yet to eat there since watching Super Size Me like 2 months ago.
