Lets face it folks I don't care what country you are from unless you develop a product and have it made in China you'll never succeed at anything and Walmart will always be there to serve you while you are paying the high price of necessities , utilities , gas , insurance etc ... but they will insure those things will come to you at an optimum lowest price too in the future . Do you want to spend more money and save more money ? . HaHa thats not how lower prices work because lower wages follow it . Now don't tell me you don't shop at Walmart I seen you there

...feel free to add a comment or rant

Small business, or at least regional business, is capable of competing with multi-national companies all the time. Things like televisions and DVDs might be better to get at larger department stores, but you won't find the kind of service comparable to that of a smaller company, especially if you're buying tools, or any kind of home supplies.

Funny, in my vibrations class we have to make a bumber cart that is going to be made in China. :D In all honesty here, has Wal-Mart plunged Canada or the US into poverty? I think people's living standards have gone up because of Wal-Mart, and that company may be the reason why hundreds of millions of Chinese are out of extreme poverty.

You just have to adapt. This just shows you that education and information are more important then manufacturing.

I agree with you. I don't like to shop there. Feels like a warehouse and it's very dirty. Plus the you have 7-8 kids running around their parents yelling in various tongues.

I really don't boycott China...

But I do boycott Wal-Mart. Until they start paying the people a little more, I don't shop from them.

I'll be hitting the wal-mart tommorow in Letbridge, cant wait to get on to one of those electric scooters and start cruising the aisles and hitting every free sample kiosk along the way.Once I have a full belly I will stock up on groceries.
Been looking forward to this trip for 2 weeks,I'm pumped to say the least! :o

Th reason wal-mart sells stuff for cheaper is because they buy stuff in bulk.

Knoss @ Tue Feb 06, 2007 7:59 pm

I don't shop at Wal Mart to much, mabye groceries and brnad name stuff but the rest is junk. I hjave too much junk. Peavy Mart is ok, Princes Auto can be ok, but what Canada needs are the The Big R, and Tractor Supply Warhouse.

The reason walmart grew at a smaller rate then K-Mart was financial limitations by strating as a local store.

They also force suppliers to price their goods below their worth so Wal-Mart can sell them for so cheap.
