Blue_Nose Blue_Nose:
There is a difference between precision and accurancy, and both are important in prediction of anything.

Accuracy refers to how close the prediction is to the event (or whatever it is), while precision refers to how specific the prediction is.

So, to say that 'there will be another world war in the future' is likely very accurate, yet imprecise. If you want to say 'there will be a world war, starting at 4:30 pm tomorrow', that is innaccurate, yet precise.

A good prediction needs to be both accurate and precise.

Good one Blue , I find it a more intersting topic . The contradition thing is just one of those common sense meet you half way things which doesn't resolve any disagreement but ...Date and time , now thats interesting . History keeps accurate records but biblically everything seems so distorted ...forinstance the missing 1000 years ? It just sustains an unconscious flow and ends up telling you that you won't know when the end will come just that it will .

I read somewhere recently that fully 25% of Christians in America were preparing for The End to be coming... sometime this year!

So much for sweating the car payments!

I guess I will always be astounded at how some people can be made to believe.... anything. This would have to include the most ludicrous of concepts.

The sad irony is that, when a disaster of some kind befalls an individual, a neighbourhood, a community, a nation or a part of the planet, the Christians who do survive are left there wondering: "Howcum I'm still here!?"

It feels good to be out of jail. Well, as soon as I saw this post, I had to through in my 2 bits. :D

Here is what Islam says about the Judgment Day and some signs that come before it, Remember these "predictions" where made in the lands of Arabia by a man who can neither read or write. Some were narrated and some were first person, so here they are:

Qiyamah will come when...

Hadhrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (R.A.) narrates that Rasulallah (Sallallahu Alayhii Wassallam) said, "Qiyamah will come...

* When it will be regarded as a shame to act on Quranic injunctions.
* When untrustworthy people will be regarded as trustworthy and the trustworthy will be regarded as untrustworthy.
* When it will be hot in winter (and vice versa).
* When the length of days is stretched, i.e. a journey of a few days is covered in a matter of hours.
* When orators and lecturers lie openly.
* When people dispute over petty issues.
* When women with children come displeased on account of them bearing offspring, and barren women remain happy on account of having no responsibility of offspring.
* When oppression, jealousy, and greed become the order of the day.
* When people blatantly follow their passions and whims.
* When lies prevail over the truth.
* When violence, bloodshed and anarchy become common.
* When immorality overtakes shamelessness and is perpetrated publicly.
* When legislation matters pertaining to Deen is handed over to the worst elements of the Ummat, and if people accept them and are satisfied with their findings, then such persons will not smell the fragrance of Jannat.
* When the offspring become a cause of grief and anger (for their parents).

The following is part of a lengthy Hadith narrated by Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Mas'ood (R.A.) when he inquired from Rasulallah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wassallam) about the Signs of Qiyamah.

* Music and musical instruments will be found in every home.
* People will indulge in homosexuality.
* There will be an abundance of illegitimate children.
* There will be an abundance of critics, tale-carriers, back- biters and taunters in society.
* People will establish ties with strangers and sever relations with their near and dear ones.
* Hypocrites will be in control of the affairs of the community and evil, immoral people will be at the helm of business establishments.
* The Masjid will be decorated, but the hearts of the people will be devoid of guidance.
* The courtyards of Masjids will be built beautifully and high mimbars (pulpits) will be erected.
* Gangsters and evil people will prevail.
* Various wines will be consumed excessively.

You can see all around you. You would never see maybe 10-20 years ago, Nudity, seductive shows and commercials on Television. Family order eSpecially the Father portrayed as a clown, a fool. Look at that sport, UFC. The fighters actually plummit each other to a pulp. Before it is stopped. Prayers have been banned from our Schools, The product of all that lack of prayers in SChool, you have those kids do shootings in Schools.

Writtin between 40-50 A.D.

2 Timothy 3

1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

7Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

9But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.

13But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:.........figure it out.

Pay attention to the words "Abundance" and you will see, why this wasn't taking place, 500 years or so. I am curious to know, what did Catholics, Jews or Muslims use to do to girls that had pre-marital sex or maybe even babies?

When I was first being trained to cousel people, one of the adages that I was made very much aware was: People will only allow and hold an awareness of that which substantiates or reinforces their already-existing beliefs. Any other contrary evidence or information will either be disregarded, discounted or drop out of consciousness.

Powerful idea, that. And one which seems to stand up in experience.

Did you not read? Arctic? All SCRIPTURE is given by INSPIRATION of GOD. I knew it you don't read posts. You just go ahead and try to make a comment on them.

Arctic_Menace @ Tue Jan 23, 2007 11:25 pm

But Men write it down, yes? Ergo, it is full of lies, since you said yourslef that all men are liars.

I do read posts perfectly fine, I just cut through the crap and hypocricy, which you can't seem to do...

So in other words, you hallucinate, write it down. Then, over many years, the message written down again. Trust me, over 2000 years, there are going to be a lot of editing errors.

Biblical_Christian @ Tue Jan 23, 2007 11:48 pm

Just gotta go to the original manuscripts, I guess.

Arctic_Menace @ Tue Jan 23, 2007 11:51 pm

Original my brown ass. Do you know how many times the original scriptures have fallen to human error? Editing issues, Catholic corruption, etc.

You just don't get it, do you?
