Jehovah's Witness
MMMMMMm chicken salad... care to share. I guess I generalized, but my bro says Jesus was a prophet and not the son of God etc. As you said. I agree with your God Mother.. religion is personal..
Hm, I'm not antireligious or something like that, but, I hate them, maybe not as them as things they do, they stop you on the street saying "How do you prepare for tomorrow end of the world?", going to your house, put at your mail box different papers and other things. Almost 2 yers ago at one morning one of them call to my doors and asked me if I want to listen her prath, I've said that I'm another religion, it's not interesting for me and went to the kitchen. After about half of an hour I was goint near the hall doors, and saw that she was still standing there and telling a prath. It's great that they are so religious, it teaches nothing bad, but I don't need it I have another one, they can't understand it!
I had one that kept bugging me about 2-3 times a week. I guess out of desperation, he thought he'd try sending 2 nice looking young ladies to my door. Well when they knocked, I KNEW they HAD to be from the JW, so I invited them in, asked them if they were the 2 hookers I ordered and began undressing. They couldn't get out the door fast enough

I was once approached by some Jehovah's as I was getting out of the car to do some shopping. I listened for a minute or so and then asked if THEY would be interested in a Religion that someone was hawking outside the Toys R Us in Market Mall.
When they didnt answer I turned and walked away

Well I wouldnt put me in an "Anti Jehovahs" group. Each to their own as long as theyre not trying to impart their "lessons" on me.
Ironically I have a "NO SOLICITORS" sign on my front door and they catch me in the parking lot.
Someone knew

Actually IIRC, up until sometime after WW2, the JW's were banned from Canada as it was considered a cult and not a religion. Then of course, the bleeding hearts had to take things over at some point and decided to include it as a religion.

FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY
In Florida , an atheist created a case against Easter and Passover Holy days.
He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians and Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.
The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring,"Case dismissed!"
The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, "Your honor, How can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays.."
The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant."
The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists."
The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that, if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day.
Court is adjourned.."; You gotta love a Judge that knows his scripture!

"How do you prepare for tomorrow end of the world?"
I was asked that once by a JW. I did my best Dennis Hopper wild eyed/Brad Pitt twitchy impression and started going on about "Bubble wrap! Lots! It's the answer! And tape...!"
Mrs SprCForr smacked me in the back of the head and told me to stop being an idiot, told the JW to fuck off and ever since then she can deal with 'em.

The JW's are a major cult.. one of my brothers converted to that so I found a book about them at the library called "Inside the Jehovah's Witness.. quite an eye opener. The best way to deal with them is say not interested and close the door. They are so friggen brainwashed that if you enter into conversation with them or take their propaganda paper they will haunt your doorstep for ever. My brother shunned his son who was marrying a girl who wouldn't convert. In his eyes his son is dead and he has no contact with him or his grandchildren.. This is religious? don't think so.
The J dubs are about as major a cult as the Mormons, they are both serious bad news.

Religion is personal and should remain so according to her.
Spirituality is an individual journey....it's when you carpool, that the trouble starts.
Whenever a JW comes to my door I always tell them I'm a pagan, then ask them if they want to be the ritual sacrifice. Needless to say they don't come around anymore.
Damn, I almost had a cute JW girl for a girlfriend. Was to the point I was winning family over to normalism.
Then my family pissed theirs off. went all bad-news from there. Probs for the best though.
I am wondering what techniques the jw's use to get the followers so totally hooked? It's not like they are held in a compound karesh style, but they seem completely sold over to this cult much in the same way as Mormons. I just don't get it. By the way, I know of some very seemingly intelligent ppl who belong.

The Nazi could not get the JW to denounce their religion. Not one. I found this out while touring a concentration camp last summer.
So you have to respect the strength of their cool-aid if nothing else.
Still don't want them knocking on my door though.
