Tony Blair joins Catholic Church
I suspect that now he is no longer a politician he won't be talking about controversial issues.

Tony Blair joins Catholic Church Former prime minister Tony Blair has left the Anglican Church to become a Roman Catholic.
His wife and children are already Catholic and there had been speculation he would convert after leaving office.
Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor, who led the service to welcome Mr Blair, said he was "very glad" to do so.
Last year, Mr Blair, who is now a Middle East peace envoy, said he had prayed to God when deciding whether or not to send UK troops into Iraq.
And one of Mr Blair's final official trips while prime minister was a visit to the Vatican in June where he met Pope Benedict XVI....
But the former Conservative government minister, Ann Widdicombe, who became a Catholic in 1993, told the BBC Mr Blair's move raised some questions.
"If you look at Tony Blair's voting record in the House of Commons, he's gone against Church teaching on more than one occasion. On things, for example, like abortion," she said.
"My question would be, 'has he changed his mind on that?'"...(more)
Blair becomes a Catholic
Ignore him, Mr. I am a catho but I'm pro-"choice".
What has he done for Christianity ? Except ending his presidency by visiting the Lybian guy who wants Europe to become an Islamic continent and Israel destroyed...

Jeremiah 1:5 : "
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee; I have appointed thee a prophet unto the nations."

Minister whatever...
Well hang in there folks the Anglican Church ( church of England)is negotiating with the Roman Catholic Church to rejoin them.. Remember the Church of England came to be because the then King Henry VIII wanted a divorce which the Pope would not grant.. so he started a new one the Church of England ...of which Elizabeth the second is head of...
and Blairs's wife was catholic..so all is well..
If that is true, I don't think it's too bad, Anglicans are basically Catholics that don't recognize the Pope. On the other side it's gonna make less Christian opposition to the RCC.
A few Orangists are gonna be angry as hell I guess...
Ummm....the Orange Lodge is essentially Presbyterian and think that both Catholics and Anglicans are going to hell. There is a bit more difference between the Anglicans and Catholics than the recognition of Benny. There is the entire matter of transubstantiation. They like most other rational people think that Christ was speaking metaphorically about bread and wine representing his blood and flesh. He spoke in parables all the time, so why pick that one to take literally? There is also the matter of married clergy, although the Catholic Church will recognize the marriage of Anglican clergy who convert.
To say nothing of female priests and blessing same-sex unions.
Yeah but that has nothing to do with traditional Anglicanism, simply the Church of England has surrended to the pop culture. This year there will be some important Protestant summit and a leading African Protestant is supposed to confront the Britons, gonna be interesting.
There is also talk of schism in some Lutheran-Calvinist churches in Europe between the true reformed Christians churches and the New-Age crap pseudo-churches.

The points hat I mentioned are quite important to the Anglican Church and have been from the beginning. The move to reject transubstantiation predated the official split and was a major point of contention with many throughout Christianity. In the end we have to ask, does Blair's conversion really have any relevance to anyone other than himself?

A lot of Protestant churches are not really churches anymore, but social service organizations. One United Church moderator identified his three priorities as gays, aboriginals and the poor. He sounded more like a politician than a cleric.

Blair was openly pro-gay and pro-abort. Since he is no longer a pol he obviously has no obligation to tell the public if his views on these issues have changed since becoming an RC.

I was talking of the gay + women clergy.

Ring.
On.

the catholic church is so obsessed with birth control and abortion but they do little or nothing regarding the child abuse cases
