Assuming you're talking about scientific theories, the big kicker is that no scientist claims that his work is the infallible truth - everything is based on observations and can by modified or discredited by new evidence.
You would be surprised on that one. Just ask the "scientists" about climate change and many will defend their theories with a passion or call their views nothing short of facts while pointing at the people across to them as wrong. God/Gods is/are just another theory out there many based on their own books or scriptures and even accounts of people themselves. I for one believe there is a much higher power at work in the universe whether others believe this or not it is up to them. So God may not be right for everyone but it is right to me.
Oh my god, we're not dragging out the old "Science is just another religion"canard, are we?

If evolution is really true, how come I don't see humans getting smarter?

"Numerous articles", I'm sure. Charles Darwin was a Christian until his scientific discoveries, after which he claimed to be an agnostic. Don't make a liar out of yourself here.
That fails to address any relevant point, either way. The only thing theoretical about evolution is the process by which it occured - that it occured is a fact, sorry to break it to you.

No response from westmanguy, I see - another failure to defend the rhetoric he strews about this forum.
He has plainly admitted that he knows nothing about evolution outside of the criticisms made by religous authors, and has even gone so far as to hide himself from knowledge of evolution, yet still has the gall to claim his beliefs are the truth.
westmanguy is an ignorant, cowardly liar that has committed a disservice to his faith.
