I'm not a big fan of them. I have 2 or 3 of their songs on my ipod.I find that most of their songs sound the same and they lack depth, plus the songs themselves are repetitive.

They are a lot like a Christian Nickelback.

Hillsong is also a prosperity doctrine church out of Australia. The band and the church share the name and are considered in some circles to be one and the same.

And their best song, IMHO, is 'All things are possible'

Sapio @ Wed Nov 26, 2008 1:11 pm

and their worst song is "All Day", sounds like a bad camp song.

OK Bart, I thought I knew a few things about Christianity, but what, for goodness sake, is a "prosperity doctrine church?"

"Prosperity Doctrine" is generally used to refer to a set of beliefs that God will bless you with material wealth if you are truly faithful.

What he said.

In the US it is also derisively known in Christian circles as "name it and claim it" - meaning if you pray for a Mercedes you'll get it soon enough.

8O Wow, I was baptised into the UCC, raised a Presbyterian and converted to Catholic as an adult. This sounds like John Knox on steroids!

Presbyterian, eh? PCA, PCUSA, or what? I am an Associate Reformed Presbyterian myself.

Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) My sister is a minister with a M.Div. with the same church. Interestingly, my wife, who was also a Presbyterian when we married, has a history with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Now we are RC. Go figure!
