$1:
Canadians preparing for chillier weather, or already in the thick of it, should not expect a repeat of last winter — what many were calling the winter that wasn't.

"It will feel tougher, but it won't be the winter of our youth," David Phillips, Environment Canada's senior climatologist, said about the agency's seasonal outlook for December to February.

Wonderful :?

So far, it is pretty close to "winter of my youth". Rain. Grey. Sucky.

You can keep the snow, but I don't mind the cold, and I DEFINITELY need SUN!!!

Maybe you should have picked Estevan, SK as a place to live.

It's dark by noon here. Bleh...

Remember, if it's unusually warm it's because of global warming.

If it's unusually cold it's because of global warming.

Remember that. [B-o]

And both statements are true, depending on where you are. It's called 'weather'.

I see Toronto set a new warm record for this day . . . +16C.

Lemmy @ Tue Dec 04, 2012 1:02 pm

Of the 31 days of January, 12 of the daily high temperature records are since 2000; another 6 are from the 1990s. The data is similar for every other month of the year, with roughly half the temperature records having been set in the past 15 years. No January low-temperature records have been set since 2000.

So Toronto is warming?

Tell the politicians to STFU...can anybody correlate Toronto's rising temperatures with Ford's political status?
:D
Edmonton has set multiple cold and hot records in the past 5 years.

Do you have any data/reference to support the multiple cold records in the past five years?

Check December 2008, which set a record, followed by December 2009, which destroyed the previous records by almost -10 degrees.

Edmonton may not be getting 'warmer', but it sure seems like we are swinging further to the extremes than we used too.

Well, at least the likelihood of an army call out for snow is going down.

That is a definite plus, but may be regrettable for the next garbage strikes.

The past month has definitely been warmer than the same month last year. Or so my gas bill says
