I just heard this on the discovery channel weekly podcast, some Canadian students have invented the lady bag. It has a radio reader and screen thingy and signals you when an item is missing liek a cepllphone, keys or wallet.

They are workign on getting a patent now. i would totally buy one! Anotehr idea would be to extend it to backpacks for kids so you know that paper and pens etc are there. A further extension would be one for your house so that you could out commonly lost items on there and they would beep or somethign wherever they are in yoru house ifyou lost them.
