RIP
I can remember where and what I was doing that night in July. Thanks for the memories.
I was 2 and 1/2.
The word hero has been overused almost to the point of it losing all its meaning.
But Neil Armstrong is a true hero now and forever. RIP Neil.
My brother and I were cutting a fellows lawn in CFB Shilo and he came running out of the house to get us, insisting that we come inside to watch the landing on TV with him. Even poured us each a big glass of lemonade.
RIP Mr. Armstrong.
I've seen a few interviews with Neil. He reminded me of Lt Col Winters from his interviews on Band of Brothers.
Both come across as those leaders we dream of working for and with.
Neil Armstrong was a gentleman and a class act all the way. Even without counting the amazing things he accomplished this world would be a better place if more people were like him.
Godspeed Mr. Armstrong
The next milestone for astronauts will be walking on Mars and then walking on a world circling another star. The first I may see and for sure my children will...barring a global cataclysm. The latter, many, many generations will pass before that ever happens.
RIP Neil. Think I'll watch The Right Stuff later.
Is this the Armstrong who went to the moon on his bike, but there's a lot of people who don't believe he went because he used performance enhancing jet fuel, even though there's no proof of that use... something about wind, shadows and footprints.
RIP Neil.
I was just 8 months old, but my Dad took me outside and held me up to the moon so I could say I watched the landing...sort of. RIP Trailblazer.
I've had a copy of the Vancouver Sun's moon landing edition stashed away since that day.
