There will be a net closure of gas and coal plants in Germany over the next few years as prices increase and the solar and wind content grows. This is additional to the 25% of nuclear plants already shut down.

Gas is becoming relatively expensive.

The chancellor halted more than 25 percent of her nation’s nuclear capacity following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami that led to meltdowns at three reactors at the Fukushima Dai- Ichi plant. Germany plans to phase out nuclear power by 2022.


And the US and Canada are building more. Not like we are all on the same page here.
