Ok everyone it is that time of year again!!!
It is the biggest sporting event in North America, over 5000 athletes, competing for a medal. It is the second largest Dragonboat Festival outside of Hong Kong, well surprisingly its in Vancouver
But the best part about it is it is free!!!
This is a sport that anyone can do, regardless of age or ability. If anyone thinks they cant, just take a look at the CNIB boat, the Mental Health, Kidney, Cancer etc boats!!!

Come out and watch and support us all!!!
Dragon Boat Festival was over and finished weeks ago here. It was a four day holiday.
I was a spare on a team this year, went to 3-4 practices but I'm not around for the actual race. Definitely quite the workout.
so I raced in six races today....we got third in a cup final. Everyone is excited about that, but me being the competitive one wanted first. But seriously it was a photo finish race and we all finished within fractions of a second. They needed replay to determine who won.
I still need to give props, again, to our Women and Men in the CF. The Army for erecting our tent city and our Navy for keeping some peace on the water. God knows us Dragonboaters can reek some havoc...no seriously it is to keep losers out of our racing lanes and save our asses if we go overboard.
So THANK YOU for sponsoring us and supporting us....and I have to say some of those boys on the water...HOLY!!!!!
Props to the recruiters as well
Now the big Race is tomorrow...I dont want to race six races tomorrow, my knee cant handle it, but I can
WOOHOOO!!!! So we got two bronzes, and some weird trophy for something else and I still havent figured out for what
Great Weekend is over til next years Alcan. But next up is the Richmond Races on July 18th and we have been sponsored for that. SAWEET!!!!
I havent uploaded them to the puter yet....I will, just have to charge the camera longer. I didnt take too many as I cant when i am racing but I do have a few. They really dont do the Festival justice though...its way better in the the live
OH I didnt see that....going to search for it now. Thanks for the heads up
Didnt take too many but by request here is some....
The finish line...
And they are off...
And this is where you have to dig deep to find that power to get through the race....everything burns
And the finish line!!
The world Beat Stage where we had some amazing entertainment...
And our Podium...where I got to stand three times
Thanks for showing us TG!
The course is 500metres, I think.....I never really want to know.
The Gemini boat is 41 feet long and we have a max of 20 paddlers. The most important thing about racing is stamina and teamwork...without this you lose.
thx babe...we had our here too
