Believe it or not Canada does infact have an Australian Rules team, although most canadians are unfamiliar with the game itself, I was suprised to find so much information about the games roots in Canada since the late 80's. Despite being incredibly popular in its country of origin, it's still relativly obscure in most areas of the world, including Canada but having lived in Australia for 9 months now (total) i've become a huge fan and love watching and playing the game. I am completely suprised the lack of its popularity globally. It's getting bigger no doubt and hopefully it will spread even more and get some more global attention, especially in North America. The Irish team ended up winning the tournament by defeating Papau New Guinea 57-19. Canada came third from the bottom in the tournament of 11 teams from all over the world including Great Britian, Nauru, Japan, Denmark and the U.S.A.
