Hey there!
i was wondering if anyone else here canoes and what their longest distances etc are.
me:
i've been canoeing since 2000 and my record distance is 100 km(is 60 mile) in one day...
here's a picture of my kano;
that is a seakano with 2 dry-compartments, a compass and other cool stuff on it. o that guy is not me.. i dont have a white beard
cool! I've only been a couple of times and had a blast! I'm no pro.
That's a kayak, just so you know.... (I don't know how to say it in dutch, so don't think I'm complaining )
The last time I went, I decided to take my cousin's river kayak into the ocean... I see why the two designs are so different!!
It was fun to paddle way out, turn around, paddle as fast as I could to catch a wave, and ride the wave like I was surfing! It was fun until I got turned sideways in the wave on my way in.... I flipped, and got trapped between my kayak and the beach. I couldn't flip my self over, because the waves kept pushing me over. Eventually though, after swallowing a lot of water, I managed to flip myself over. So ended my kayaking for that day!
I've been interested in learning that/kayaking for awhile, never taken the time to research though. Maybe we could chat abit and I could try and learn something.
hehe surfing is cool indeed..
here in netherlands we call it a kano.
o and going out on sea with a flatwaterkano/kayak isn't smart indeed... i think you had a lot of water going over you while on sea....
tomorrow i'm gonna practice my "eskimotering"skills since they want good weather then.
hehe
that's gonna be fun.. do they bring a camera along...?
that's not to old..
o here in netherland there is a action that when you buy a water resistance disposal you get an water resistent bag and a pair of sunglasses for free..
maybe they have that same action at a mediamart near you?
