You mean Bajan, as in from Barbados Sock? I agree. Been there a few times and worked with a white Bajan. It's similar to the UK in class structure, elites etc.

Yes, Barbados (I used to say Barbadian and they let me get away with it, while giggling at me for a while).
They say their poor are well looked after, just like in the UK, the tourist money trickles to the bottom. No slums, etc. But they complain of a Haitian problem and illegal immigration.
Did your colleague complain of any overt racism? Is it bad there?

It's more class + race in Barbados. There is a black elite and a white elite. They mix well but it's like Oxford and Cambridge if you know what I mean. People not born in Barbados, well, if they 'aint super rich they are just foreign, black or white.

The one of the things I like this forum is it's unpredictable way. We began from places for retired people and ended with racism.

Well no, I'd be an ex-pat. The only place I could see immigrating to is Australia, and I'm too old, they wouldn't take me.
