I enjoyed this debate. It seemed like a fair fight. Both sides got to hit their basic points.

nice how they don't condemn the violence that brings them publicity.

'people run redistribution'
these yun'uns obviously have no idea what socialism really is.
Growing up in America, they never will see it;
so they need to get out first before they can say anything else.

working class families are not creative, do not create jobs or wealth.. sorry to say it.
They can work hard, but brains make money, not brawn.

Arts majors steeped in communist rhetoic... Good luck with that.
I feel dumber just watching it.

I'd imagine most of that mob were your usual anarchists who I supose don't organize well enough to have a legitimate spokesman.

Sounds like a lot of people at my school.

There's nothing wrong with socialism - in fact if you live in Canada, you're a product of it and you likely reaped its rewards (although, if you're an dissenting ideologue, you've likely rationalized it away).

There's no free market here, it's regulated and as a mixed market, it tends offset the inherent problems within BOTH socialism and capitalism.

I'd love to hear how the conservative partisan automatons justify Harper's economic bailout. That doesn't sound very free market to me.

Easy. He was forced to provide the bailout or the leftists would have brought the government down. It's hard to be a capitalist when you have a minority government surrounded by socialists.

Did Hannity ever get around to condemning the implied violence against the President by tea-baggers toting firearms at this summer's health-care protests? Or any of the "Go back to Kenya, Nigger!" signs? Or any of the vile "Obama = Hitler" rhetoric that other commentators on his own network have been recklessly promulgating?

Just asking for laughs. I already know what the real answer is.

I don't agree with everything the two girls in the video were saying but at least they stood up to the bully Hannity and didn't let him corner them the way he usually does to unprepared guests. Nice to see some folks fight back every once in a while.

The irony is when big business comes begging redistribution is a good thing. When people argue for change to make their lives better its evil "Socialism" and "Communism".

The other fact is, that no matter what the blue C conservatives say on this site, our democratically elected government makes choices based on what they think the people of this country want. You can bitch and whine about what you think your capitalist utopia would look like but if me and 18 million Canadians like me prefer that people run the country and not corporations then we’re going to get a more left leaning socialist style government.

And Steveo knows that. And he is more than willing to sell you and your capitalist principals to whatever party is buying in order to stay in power. He cares not about what you say or what the Tory red book says. If people want Socialism he will provide it.

If he were a real leader with principals he would rather his government fall than change his agenda. Instead his agenda book is full of Liberal, NDP and Bloc bodily fluids because the Cons spend so much time fondling the libs, socialists and separatists you’d think BJ’s in the ally for cash was legal in this country.

Not this conservative. I strongly beleive they should have let GM die. The other car companies would have picked up the slack.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
Idiots using Anarchism for fun, after just looking up "Anarcho-Communism" or "Anarcho-Syndicalism" on google. The girls were also idiots.

You could get a much smarter "Socialist" (Anarchist, Communist... Whatever) then these dipshit ladies. It hurt me to watch this.

When the revolution starts, these ladies will disappear behind the shed, lol.

Anyway, they deserved to be destroyed by an utter clown like Hannity.

And are you an Anarcho communist? Fan of Ziegeist?

(I love how "Anarcho-communist" is an oxymoron)

Bull. Let's see the evidence on this one...oh and while you're at it, could you explain why the conservatives support (and have traditionally supported despite majorities) other socialist initiatives like healthcare, education, a central Bank, government ownership of businesses and abolition of children from factory labour. That was all suggested by Marx and Engels and all have been instituted in Canada and many other Western nations.

Socialism - our democratic socialism - isn't always bad (and for the record, i'm no socialist), in fact, many of us have benefited from it. Maybe the unenlightened should actually get beyond the cheap semantics and actually learn about it.
